I've got 2 Revelrys here, same model reel different customers, that have sustained the same damage.

I'm not entirely sure how they occured, one did take a tumble.

It's just odd to see two the same.

Pre-serviced this Certate SW

The new line roller design, although conceptually the same as the current Saltiga, is beefed up substantially.

I can only assume the new Saltiga will also utilise this upgraded design 🤞

Things are getting better 👍

The WA Firearm Community Alliance is comprised of and represents the respected and established peak bodies for the ballistic sports in Western Australia, and includes the state wide industry network of firearm retailers, wholesalers, repairers and manufacturers, along with key representatives from grain growing, primary production and pest control agencies across the state.

Recognised by the Minister for Police in the WA Parliament as the mature and responsible peak body for 95,000 firearm owners and the fi****ms industry in Western Australia, the organisation has maintained a mature and sensible approach to engagement with the State’s MP’s and WA Police throughout the course of the fi****ms debate.

The WA State Election on Saturday the 8th of March is the opportunity for firearm owners, their families and the people of Western Australia to cast their vote after 8 years of the Labor government. With every election comes a chorus of radical and poorly informed ideas about how to make change, more often than not from those absent throughout the debate.

In recent weeks, calls from Eastern states individuals have been made to hold a “gun rally” in the Perth CBD in an attempt to seek relevance in Western Australia and apply some feeble influence over the views of the voting public and the outcomes of the WA State Election.

The WA Firearm Community Alliance categorically disavows any connection, involvement or endorsement of any proposed “gun rally” in Western Australia. Any such action will be counterproductive and poses a serious risk to undermining the unprecedented bi-partisan support that we have achieved with those Political Parties understanding the need for responsible firearm ownership.

We the undersigned implore responsible firearm owners to stay the course and make your voice heard on polling day by voting for those candidates that have publicly stated their support for responsible firearm ownership in WA.

The only paths to changing the WA Fi****ms Act 2024 are to join a political party that supports your sport and recreational pastime, volunteer to help with early voting or on polling day and support the candidates in your electorate that support you.

Reels that are prone to water entering the body need some type of barrier applied to the cast gears to help fight off corrosion.
Corrosion resilient grease applied lightly to the cast surfaces will help prolong the gears destruction.
It will eventually occur, but at a greatly reduced rate.

Be aware of what's going on with your gear.
Try to avoid saltwater smashing into your reels as much as possible.

One downside with the magseal assembly is that it will catch dirt and sand.

It almost needs a secondary seal to stop dirt getting to it.

The older Tanacom, Tanacom Bulls & Megatwin had 1 piece main frames, as does the current Tanacom 1000.
The new Tanacom and Seapower 1200 have a plate screwed to the main frame, which is only held by 4x 2.5mm screws.
This Tanacom 1200 has had 2x of those screws snap.

It could be that it occurred due to excessive load being placed on the reel, but they are extremely small screws for the job.

If it is the case that screws were the only option, then perhaps 6x or 8x would be an appropriate amount given the load the 2 rear screws are placed under.

1st outing on the boat in 12 months out of Jurien Bay.

It was a relatively quiet day, but we did land a number of fish.
Dhufish, snapper, blackass, baldchin grouper, and sambos were on the bite every time we dropped.
Nothing was huge although a few big fish were lost amongst the smaller ones.

There was an early call on the radio of a blue marlin hook up.
Then a black later in the day on Outsider on a trolled minnow.

On the way back in, we stopped at the mackerel 'spot', and Dave got a 14kg spaniard.

At least today wasn't hot like yesterdays 44 degrees.

Be mindful of what lubricant spray you are using.
Most spray cans contain a high volume of solvent and very little lubricant.

These sprays will have a negative effect on grease and oil in a reel, breaking it down, turning it to liquid.

I've used most of what is available locally and have settled on the Helmar H4000 Silicone spray.
It has a high concentration of lubricant and is food grade, so I don't get too worried spraying it on my terminal tackle or fishing line/leaders.

I'm sure there may be other brands where you are that may be similar.

It only requires a small amount of water entry into some reels to start causing issues.

A few corroded bearings and a tiny amount of corrosion on one surface stopped this Conquest from functioning correctly.

After a good clean and a couple of bearings, this one will be back out there catching fish once again.
