This project involved a scaffold wrap around the perimeter of the second-storey roof of this home, providing a safe and secure working platform for the roofing works.

With approximately 46 linear metres of scaffolding and a main working level positioned just below gutter height, the roofing team have safe access around the roof to carry out the reroofing works.

Despite a few challenges around the patio, trees and neighbouring access, the team got it all sorted and wrapped up smoothly.

Old Swan Brewery

Another challenging scaffolding project completed again, 18 years later!

We first completed the scaffolding for this property back in 2008, and it was great to be called back again in 2026 to provide access for another round of works.

This project involved 60 linear metres of aluminium scaffolding, up to 8m high, installed around three sides of the upper level and erected entirely off the existing tiled roof.

With five working levels, the scaffold provided safe and practical access to the walls, eaves, and gutters for the painting team.

Due to the building layout and limited access, the scaffold was carefully staged and erected in sections, incorporating an access tower and walkway across the roof. All equipment was raised and lowered via the eastern driveway throughout the project.

A challenging installation requiring careful planning, precision, and teamwork to deliver safe, reliable access while protecting the existing property.

Back in 2008, and back again in 2026, it’s always rewarding when a client calls us back 18 years later.

We installed an aluminium scaffold over the staircase, with a working platform positioned below the ceiling to provide safe access for the skylight installation.

The setup included internal ladder access and was designed to work around the existing staircase while providing a solid and practical working area.

Not the easiest space to scaffold, but with a bit of planning and the right setup, we got it done safely and efficiently.

Another access solution delivered by the team, completed on nightshift along a busy footpath.

This project involved installing aluminium scaffolding within the existing hoarding, rising up the building façade before stepping around the roof gable to provide access for painting and lighting works.

With working platforms every 2m, internal ladder access and restricted access to the recessed façade areas, this was a challenging setup that required careful planning and attention to detail, particularly with the limited working space and public footpath below.

Western Australian Maritime Museum, Fremantle WA

AccSpec was engaged to design and construct a highly engineered scaffold access system for ACP cladding replacement and façade remediation at the iconic Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle.

The project presented several significant engineering challenges. No scaffold loads could be imposed on the existing timber boardwalk, requiring the entire scaffold to cantilever from the narrow concrete walkway supported by the museum's distinctive 10-degree inclined columns. The working platforms also needed to follow the sloping façade, creating a continuous 10-degree ramp while maintaining safe working access. Adding further complexity, the building curves in plan towards the western elevation while the cladding itself incorporates concave sections, demanding custom scaffold geometry to closely follow the façade.

The solution incorporated engineered aluminium truss beams, cantilevered working platforms, multiple stair access towers and bespoke scaffold layouts that safely accommodated the building's unique architectural form. Delivered without impacting the surrounding public areas or waterfront, the project highlights AccSpec's capability to engineer innovative access solutions for some of Western Australia's most architecturally challenging and iconic buildings.

North Metropolitan TAFE, Northbridge WA

AccSpec was engaged to design, supply and install a complex scaffold access system to facilitate the replacement of the aluminium composite cladding (ACP) at the North Metropolitan TAFE campus in the heart of Northbridge, Western Australia.

The project demanded a bespoke access solution to accommodate the building's highly irregular façade. The western elevation featured multiple stepped levels with projecting and recessed sections, while the southern elevation incorporated a series of angled triangular walls intersecting conventional façades. These constantly changing building profiles required carefully engineered scaffold layouts, extensive custom plywood infill platforms, and close attention to detail to provide safe, continuous access for the cladding installers.

Working within a busy city environment, the scaffold also had to be installed quickly and safely to meet the client's program while minimising disruption to pedestrians, traffic, and surrounding businesses. A fully engineered modular scaffold, complete with integrated public protection, multiple stair towers and continuous working platforms, enabled the façade remediation works to proceed efficiently and safely.

This project showcases AccSpec's ability to deliver innovative, high-quality scaffold access solutions for architecturally complex buildings where conventional thinking is simply not sufficient.
