Some points to note
• We don’t do urgent call outs
• Minimum job size 4 hours
• No problem solving unless its part of an overhaul we are doing. For example, we would not come out for one solenoid not working. We would fix that one solenoid as part of a more involved job however.

Hakea laurina (Pincushion Hakea) — one of the best winter flowering natives you can plant in Perth

We installed this one back in 2022 as part of a full garden and lawn installation — starting from a small, young plant. It was tiny when it went in and was planted with good native soil

Now look at it.

This is Hakea laurina, commonly known as the Pincushion Hakea. It’s one of the best flowering natives you can use if you want colour through the cooler months.

Why it stands out:
• Flowers from late autumn through winter into early spring
• Unique red and cream pincushion flowers
• Attracts birds and pollinators
• Holds a strong, natural structure as it matures

The flowers are what really set it apart — they come through when most gardens are pretty quiet and give you something to look at through winter.

This one has established really well and is doing exactly what you want — growing properly, flowering consistently, and holding its shape over time. The owner really looks after the garden and maintains it well!

We installed this entire garden and lawn from scratch, and this is what it looks like a few years on when it’s done properly.

This irrigation system and garden were installed six months ago and are going great, pushing through the summer heat.

We’ve lost a couple of plants, but the majority of the garden is doing very well.

Great morning at the Friends of Kings Park Native Plant Sale. 🌿

These plants are grown by volunteers in the Kings Park nursery, and the proceeds go back into supporting research, conservation, and education around Western Australia’s incredible native flora.

Always a great place to find interesting species you won’t see in most nurseries.
