A look back at our work on the Perth Airport redevelopment ✈️

The Perth Airport redevelopment is the largest private infrastructure investment in the state's history, a multi-billion dollar transformation that will reshape WA's aviation capacity for decades to come. iVac WA is proud to have played our part.

Our team provided vacuum excavation services across the project, safely exposing and protecting the underground infrastructure that keeps a site of this scale running. Working in and around a live, operational airport environment demands precision, strict safety compliance, and careful coordination, and it is exactly the kind of high-stakes work our crews and fleet are built for.

Here is where vacuum excavation earns its place on a project like this:

Safe utility locating and exposure. Non-destructive digging confirms exactly what is underground before any mechanical work begins, protecting power, comms, water, and other critical services from strikes.

Minimal disruption. Precise, controlled excavation keeps works moving without the risk and downtime that comes with damaging existing infrastructure.

Working around live operations. Airport environments leave no room for error, and our approach keeps both the site and the surrounding infrastructure protected.

Being part of a project of this significance is something we are genuinely proud of, and it reflects the trust placed in iVac WA to deliver safe, precise work on WA's most important infrastructure projects.

Something a bit different this week. Digging out a cellar space using vacuum excavation.

This one was all about access. Tight working space and limited access to the site meant traditional machinery simply could not get in to do the job. So we brought in the vac truck instead.

Using powerful suction, our team removed the sand cleanly and efficiently to make way for the new cellar construction, tipping the spoil straight out where it was needed. No excavators, no diggers, no heavy plant trying to squeeze into a space it was never going to fit.

This is one of the underrated strengths of vacuum excavation. When access is tight and there is simply no room for conventional machinery, a vac truck can reach in, remove material with precision, and get the job done without the mess, damage, or disruption that comes with forcing bigger equipment onto a constrained site.

It also keeps the surrounding property protected. Working this close to an existing home, driveway, and landscaping means precision matters, and vacuum excavation gives you exactly that.

Jobs like this are a great reminder that vacuum excavation is not just for utilities and drainage. Whenever access is a challenge and precision is a must, there is usually a way to get it done.

WINNERS! 🏆

Introducing our newest sponsored talent. iVacWA is proud to be the main sponsor of Ricky Skalecki, and what a way to kick things off.

Ricky and the iVacWA drift car took out the D1WA Pro and Pro-Am Finals recently at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway, historically known as Barbagallo Raceway.

This was the definitive major drift event on the calendar, held on the infield track, and to come away with the win is an outstanding achievement. Ricky is young, seriously talented, and going places, and we could not be prouder to have the iVacWA name alongside him and the car as he does it.

Sponsoring up and coming local talent like Ricky is something we genuinely love being part of. Watching a young driver put in the work, master their craft, and deliver on the big stage is exactly the kind of drive and determination we admire.

Massive congratulations Ricky. What a way to represent. 🧡🖤

Not every day goes perfectly, and even brand new gear under warranty can fail. What matters is how you respond and how fast you solve the problem.

On Saturday evening, at 5pm, one of our vac trucks had a shock absorber fail on the rear right hand side out in the Pilbara, six hours from Port Hedland. The operator called our management team directly, and from there the whole team stepped up.

We got moving straight away, locating the part in Port Hedland. Even though it was well after business hours, our contacts went back in to the store and left the part out the front for us. We called another one of our business contacts for a hot shot, and bang, they responded. Within 30 minutes we had the part on board and heading to the mine site. Just before midnight, the parts arrived on site.

The very next morning we had the part fitted to the truck and were back to work that same day.

That is the kind of response that makes the difference. A failure that could have caused serious downtime was sorted in a matter of hours, on a weekend, in one of the most remote parts of the country.

The way our team handled this shows exactly how iVac WA operates. We go above and beyond to support each other and our clients, no matter the time, no matter the location. A huge thank you to everyone involved, our operator, our management team, and the contacts who came through when it counted.

We are here in the Pilbara supporting Tier 1 operators, doing our little bit to make sure the our clients operations never stop 🤙

🥊 Massive congratulations to our sponsored athlete Kirra Ruston, who got the job done last night with a first-round KO against Saundre Simmons. If you blinked, you missed it.

That takes him to 10 and 0, undefeated, with all 10 wins by knockout. Let that sink in. Ten fights, ten knockouts, not a blemish on the record.

At iVac WA, we're proud to back Kirra. Watching a young fighter put in the work and deliver like that makes the decision to get behind him an easy one. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes before anyone steps into the ring, the early mornings, the training, the discipline, and last night it all paid off again.

We love supporting local talent with real drive, and Kirra has it in spades. A perfect 10-0 and still just getting started. We're rapt to be along for the ride.

Onwards and upwards. Congratulations again, Kirra. 👏

When a water main bursts, every minute counts. ⏱️

The call came in at 3:00am, and iVac WA was able to respond right away. Kingvac 3 was deployed out to an emergency job on Murray Street in the Perth C*D for Water Corporation, safely exposing a burst water main so repairs could get underway fast.

This is exactly where non-destructive digging earns its place. In a busy city street packed with underground services, our vacuum excavation gently exposes the main using high-pressure water and suction, with no risk of striking nearby power, comms or gas lines. It is the safe, precise way to get to the problem quickly when there is no time to spare.

A great job by the team getting in, exposing the main and helping Water Corp restore supply.

Emergencies do not wait for business hours, and neither do we. Need a rapid, non-destructive emergency call-out anywhere in Perth, day or night? The iVac WA team is ready to roll.

We are proud to share that iVac WA has been featured in the July 2026 issue of Resources Review. 📖

Our article, "Below the surface: How non-destructive digging is reshaping mining productivity and sustainability in WA", takes a look at why NDD has moved from a specialist add-on to standard practice across Tier 1 operations in the Pilbara, Goldfields and Mid West.

A few of the key points we cover:

▪️ On a working mine, power cables, comms lines, dewatering pipelines and tailings infrastructure often sit within metres of each other. A single asset strike can cost hundreds of thousands in lost production before repairs even begin.
▪️ Non-destructive digging removes soil gently using high-pressure water or air and powerful suction, so the strike risk disappears entirely and critical infrastructure stays online.
▪️ The sustainability case is just as strong. Dry vacuum excavation produces reusable spoil that can go straight back to the dig, cutting the carbon footprint of trucking material off-site.

The work happens below the surface, but its impact on productivity, safety and the long-term success of WA mining is anything but invisible.

iVac WA operates one of Western Australia's largest and most advanced vacuum excavation fleets, with mine-spec trucks, Tier 1 inducted operators and licensed controlled waste handling.

Red dirt, blue skies, and the iVac fleet getting the job done at Namuldi. 🤙

Our crews have been up in the Pilbara working hard at the Namuldi mine site, delivering the safe, precise vacuum excavation work our mining clients rely on. There is something pretty special about seeing the iVac trucks out against that classic red dirt backdrop.

Working on remote mining sites like Namuldi takes more than just good equipment. It takes crews who can operate self sufficiently, follow strict site protocols, keep safety front and centre, and represent the business to the highest standard, all while a long way from home. Our teams do exactly that.

A big shout out to Jamie, Donk, Hafiz, and Terry for flying the flag and getting it done up there. Great work team. 🧡

Proud moment for iVac WA.

We recently received some fantastic feedback from one of the senior supervisors at Rio Tinto, praising both of our crews on site at Namuldi. Following instructions to a tee, safety on point, PPE spot on, and work areas set up correctly with proper barricading.

That kind of recognition from a Tier 1 client does not come easy, and it reflects the calibre of the people representing iVac WA out in the field.
Red dirt, blue skies, and the iVac fleet getting the job done. 🤙

A massive shout out to Jamie, Donk, Hafiz, and Terry. You are doing the business up there and setting the standard for what iVac is all about. Quality work, done safely, every single time.

Great work team. 🧡

Pit cleaning and line jetting at Perth Motorplex with Eastside Concrete.

Thomas and the team were onsite this week cleaning pits and jetting lines for Eastside Concrete at one of WA's most iconic venues, the Perth Motorplex.

For a bit of history, the Perth Motorplex opened in December 2000 at Kwinana Beach, built at a cost of around 20 million dollars. It was the first venue in Australia to combine both drag racing and speedway on the one site, replacing the much loved Claremont Speedway that had run since 1927 and the old Ravenswood drag strip. More than 25 years on, it draws over 275,000 patrons a year and hosts major events including the Westernationals, World Series Sprintcars, and the Motorvation car show, along with big name concerts over the years. It has become a genuine WA institution for anyone into motorsport.
Behind a venue that scale is a serious amount of infrastructure that needs to be kept in top condition.

That is where we come in. Our team handled pit cleaning and high pressure line jetting, clearing out built up sediment and debris to keep the drainage and pit systems flowing properly.

Why does this work matter? Pits and drainage lines gradually fill with sediment, silt, and debris over time. Left unchecked, that build up leads to blockages, poor drainage, and potential flooding, which is the last thing a busy venue needs heading into the wet season. Regular pit cleaning and jetting keeps everything operating as designed and prevents small issues from becoming expensive problems.

Great work from Thomas and the team, and a pleasure to support Eastside Concrete at such a well known WA venue.
