High Ground Electrical is looking for a skilled, highly motivated, passionate & motivated A-grade Electrician with service & installation experience to join our young dynamic family owned company. The ideal candidate will have a range of experience including fault finding, service & maintenance, installation and fitout.

High Ground Electrical is a small sized family company with a large focus on customer service, professionalism, safe work practices, and a continued focus on skills development. No two days are the same at High Ground Electrical and the perfect candidate will be able to switch between a variety of jobs and be able to actively organise their day based around an evolving schedule.

As a small, family owned business we offer a great work/life balance and the opportunity to upskill and grow with the business. We offer flexibility in day to day work hours and understand the needs of balance with family and outside commitments!

A fully equipped company vehicle is also included with this position along with work phone, company uniform/ppe and tablet.

Suitable applicants require the following:
- A Grade Electrical License
- Working at heights qualification (Willing to do the course)
- Working in confined space (willing to do the course)
- Elevated work platform (willing to do the course)
- Valid Drivers License
- Valid Police clearance
- Open cabling licence with competencies in structured cabling and coax
- Covid-19 vaccinated and current flu vaccination (Aged Care Facility work requirement)

RCD Testing

The single most important safety device installed in your home and business is the RCD they are installed to protect life. 🫶

RCDs also need to be tested on a regular basis and you can do this, call it PRO-active maintenace on your home or business 😉

Machine Lighting

COB LED strip light integrated into the machines, with 24v DC voltage safely delivered using the existing cabling in 1x machine and running new wires for the other.

Hot Water!

Poor connection, carbon build-up and incorrect fuse wire caused the ceramic fuses to heat up enough to melt nearby plastic covers.

We swapped them for a 3 phase RCBO, much safer and not adjustable with fuse wire 😉

Spot the Difference 👀

Look closely at the two orange coloured RCBOs...
Hint, notice the cables going into the bottom.

Whilst testing a newly added powerpoint to the circuit it failed both the polarity and RCD trip tests.

We corrected the problem which left the owner stunned as it had not been tested when installed by a previous electrician. 😵

LED Highbay Install

Owner supplied LED highbay lights were added to their warehouse and recent extension along with LED emergency lighting.

Highbay Fault

Group of high bay lights were tripping the light circuit at one of our customers premises.

Our test equipment couldnt detect the fault so it was up to a visual inspection of the fittings to determine the problem.

The short circuit was on the load side of the ballast, therfore not being detected on our test equipment.

After installing the cable in January, the team were excited to energise this project.
