The Heritage Council has announced the commencement of the Heritage Grants Program; allocating $1.2 million capital funding to heritage place property owners.
Heritage Grants Program provides state government funding across two categories: State Heritage Grants and Community Heritage Grants.
The state Heritage Grants can be allocated to professional heritage advice, preparation of conservation management plans and other heritage documentation prior to the the commencement of a building's conservation works.
Heritage Grants Program applicants may be funded for:
• $50,000 for standard conservation works projects;
• $100,000 for major conservation projects;
• $16,000 for architectural documentation such as CMP's;
• Funding assistance to engage qualified heritage professionals to oversee eligible conservation works.
The Heritage Grants Program allocates the following to Community projects:
• $10,000 for standard projects;
• $30,000 for eligible major projects.
The Heritage Council is closing heritage grant applications on Monday, 2 November 2026 so ensure you leave sufficient time for preparation of the Heritage Grants Program application.
