🔥🔥We are taking you behind the scenes of a recent work-in-progress to show you the hardest part of any concreting project: groundworks.
If the foundation isn’t perfect, the final slab won’t last simple as that.
On this particular site, we hit a tricky situation.
As soon as the old concrete slab was removed, we uncovered heavy clay and severe water build-up trapped underneath.
Pouring straight over that would cause major cracking and sinking down the track.
Guiding the customer to what was required and that we had to ensure that the following was done to complete the job.
Excavating out the unstable, wet clay.
Installing proper drainage to manage the water subsurface.
Importing and compacting a rock-solid base layer.
It proves that with the right preparation, there is absolutely no job we can’t do.
