Whoops 😅 we haven’t introduced more of our team for a while!

So to kick it off again we are going to start with our Maintenance Team Leaders 👨🏻‍🔧👨🏻‍🔧

Rick Edwards & Nathan Dale or as we call them B1 & B2 🍌

💥 Whats your job role?
Rick - Mekanik.. Leading hand
Nathan - Diesel Fitter / Leading Hand

💥 How long have you worked for C&M
Rick - About 9 months so far.
Nathan - Feels like a life time (6 months)

💥 What’s worse: a snapped bolt, a stripped thread, or an operator saying “while you’re here…”?

Rick - Not all snapped bolts are bad so i would say stripped threads are my least favourite

Nathan - Definitely an operator saying while you’re here. Or even better telling you what they reckon the issue is

💥 Which coworker would you trust LEAST to hold the torch for you?

Rick - Probably Austin or Nathan, would be like working at night with a toddler the torch would end up in another universe and they’d wander off chasing moths or something.

Nathan - It would be Austin for sure. He’s always messing with me and I’ve never ever done anything to him 😇

💥 What vehicle or machine do you NEVER want to see coming toward the workshop?

Rick - Probably the backhoe or anything with “BELL” on it
Nathan - Anything Komatsu 🤢

💥Which C&M employee would you swap roles with for a day?

Rick - I would take Dooey’s job any day!

Nathan - I’d be an operator for a day. I can’t imagine how good it feels to break something and know it’s not your problem. Just call some other chump to come fix it

💥 If you weren’t a mechanic, what job would you be dangerously underqualified for?

Rick - Anything i’d have to wear a shirt and tie for

Nathan - I’d be a brain surgeon. Same but different really. Just less grease. What’s the worst that could happen?

What is your role title?
• HSE Training Advisor

How long have you worked in this type of industry for?
• 14 years in Construction and a few years operating in Mining.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about safety advisors?
• That we are all fun police. I like to work with the crew and get everyone home safely each day!

What’s the funniest excuse you have heard from someone doing something they definitely shouldn’t have been doing in your career?
• Not so much funny but this one has stood out. “I don’t know what the fuss is about I’ve been rolling s**t for years🤣”

If you could swap one team members role for the day who would it be?
• I can’t decide between Beau and Dooey, so I’ll have to swap with Ben!

What do you do in your free time and weekends when you’re not keeping every one safe?
• I’d like to say traveling camping, fishing and Motor Bikes. But mowing and getting all the home jobs done is the truth.

Favourite knock off drink when you get home after a busy week or day?
• Carlton 3.5 and the occasional Scotch!

• Finance Manger

• 4 years

What’s your favourite part of your job?
• Being able to work with my sister 💗 and of course, I love a spreadsheet!

• Long black with a dash of almond milk

Who is the biggest offender for submitting timesheets late?
• The big boss’s themselves! Smurf and Mick 😂

What’s scarier: tax time, EOFY or missing receipts?
• Tax time for sure, it’s never fun delivering that news 😬😂

If you could learn to operate one of our machines which one would it be?
• The machines terrify me so for the safety of myself and those around me, it would be best if I stayed in my office 😂

If you could swap job roles for one day which C&M team member would it be?
• I think I’ve got the best role there is, so I don’t think I’d ever swap!!

And the big one… if you won $10 million, would you still come in to finish payroll before quitting?
• For sure 😂I love team C&M!!!

Job Role : Maintenance Manager

How Long: Almost 12 Months

Favourite Machine to work on: I dont have to work on them myself much, but I have a soft spot for the D10 and the both of the EX1200 Excavators having had worked on a few over the years, the 775 dump trucks are my era too so I tend to enjoy helping diagnose and keep them powering on

Biggest S**t Stirrer: Everyone would expect me to say Nathan, and they would be spot on, between he and plenty of backup from Will they keep me on my toes 🤣

Go to Lunch: I'm a big fan of Spag Bol the day after, its always better 2nd time around!

Most Likely to be late: Austin for sure, the lad loves to try and sneak into prestart under the radar 🤣

Best Excuses: Beau, when he isn't busy making tomato sandwiches for the Red Cross of course

Who would survive longest in the bush?:
Rick, if he can survive being raised in Lithgow, and winter mornings at Northparkes without the need for a jumper, he will be just fine in the scrub I reckon

If you won 2 Million would I show up to work on Monday? I reckon I would turn up, I might leave on time for a change though

What were you doing before you worked for C&M?

• I had my own excavation company for 10 years.

If you could only use one machine for the rest of your career, which one would it be?

• Excavator not much can’t be done with one.

Who is the loudest on the Two Way?

• Probably me if you take a survey 😂

What’s one thing everyone thinks you do at work that isn’t true?

• That I eat all the time

If you could swap job roles for a day with someone at C&M who would it be?

• Ben - so I can drive his big lorry (Land Cruiser) 💨

• I don’t think I have a favourite, the variety of machines C&M have is good to change things up every now and then.

• Ben and Beau are the s**t stirrers, I’ve got nothing to do with it 😇

If you could swap job roles with someone at C&M for a day who would it be?
• Probably have to swap jobs with fitter Rick, he looks like he’s got it pretty easy 😉

What do you do in your spare time?
• I’ve got a few hobbies, but wishing I was at work would have to be at the top

• Yeah I’d have to return to work, I have debt. 💸

In the 9 years C & M have been trading, we have never introduced our team that keeps the wheels or tracks for that matter, turning! 👷🏼

Any machine doing drainage works, a lot of satisfaction watching water run for the first time.
