CARPENTER POSITION AVAILABLE We are seeking a qualified carpenter to join our team in the Parkes area. Whether you are new to the area, a current resident, or seeking a change, we welcome your application. Our company provides a stable workload, regular hours, and use of a company vehicle. This role may be suitable for full-time or part-time employment, depending on your situation. Please be aware that this position involves a diverse range of building projects, not solely new home construction. We require applications from qualified carpenters. This was a much needed upgrade to the kitchen space at the local Dish Cafe. Thanks to everyone who helped us make it possible in such a short period of time. Can’t wait to have a meal once it’s up and running.

We caught up with Jamie out on Work Experience this week. He is being hosted by Downes Building. Jamie is pictured with business owner Mr Downes and apprentice Sterling Green. Sterling attended Parkes High and recently signed out to pursue a full time apprenticeship. Thank you for supporting our students Downes Building!

POSITION AVAILABLE!!!!!!!

If you are a looking for a full-time position with us, please DM, send your resume or give me a call to discuss employment. If you are currently employed with another company, applications will be kept strictly confidential. Work vehicle supplied, overtime available.
We carry out a variety of building projects with varying daily activities, if you want to build new homes, this position will not suit you. Please only apply for yourself, family member enquiries will not be considered.
Pay rates will depend on experience.

🔨 Essential criteria:

-Qualified carpenter
OR
-3rd/4th year apprentice carpenter
-driver's license
-work unsupervised at times
-well-presented + strong communication skills
-ability to read plans and follow instructions
-eye to detail, drive and accountability
-effective time management skills
-be reliable and turn up on time daily

🔨Desirable criteria:

-sound mathematical ability
-previous experience tiling + detailed carpentry
-reno work, all-rounder carpenter
-own tools is an advantage

Congratulations to Year 11 student, Sterling Green, who has secured a full time apprenticeship with Steve Downes Building. This year, Sterling participated in our Skills Training and Employment Program (STEP) with Mr Downes where he attended work one day a week and learnt amazing new skills. Congratulations Sterling and thankyou Mr Downes for supporting our students!
