One of last week’s jobs delivered an unexpected surprise. Partway through grinding the stump, the machine struck metal — the tree had grown around a star picket hidden inside the trunk.

If you know of anything that may be near, beneath or inside a stump — such as old garden stakes, pipes or underground services — please let us know before work begins. We understand hidden hazards aren’t always visible, but any information helps us plan the job safely.
