🐝 Not all wasps are the same — and the difference actually matters.

In Perth we mainly deal with two types:

📍 PAPER WASPS
• Build those open, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, pergolas, and letterboxes
• Grey-brown, slender body, long dangling legs when flying
• Territorial but generally won't attack unless provoked
• Nests are seasonal — die off each winter, queen starts fresh in spring

📍 EUROPEAN WASPS
• Build enclosed nests — often underground or inside wall cavities
• Yellow and black, chunkier than paper wasps
• FAR more aggressive — will sting repeatedly and call in the colony
• Nests can contain THOUSANDS of workers
• In WA they're an invasive species and a serious risk

Right now (mid-winter) paper wasp activity is low — but if you find a nest now, it's the best time to deal with it before queen activity ramps up in spring.

If you ever find what looks like a European wasp nest — do NOT disturb it. Call us immediately.

Most Perth homes have at least one gap that a determined rat or mouse can squeeze through. And in winter, they are VERY determined.

A mouse can fit through a hole the size of a 5-cent coin.
A rat needs just 20mm.

Common entry points we find:
🔍 Gaps around pipes where they enter the wall
🔍 Weep holes in brick construction
🔍 Broken or missing roof vent covers
🔍 Gaps under garage doors
🔍 Unscreened vents and subfloor openings
🔍 Where electrical conduit enters the building

The pest control industry calls this "exclusion work" — physically sealing the routes rodents use to enter. It's the difference between treating a symptom and solving the actual problem.

A standard visual termite inspection is good. A thermal imaging inspection is better.

Here's why:

🔥 Active termite workings create moisture and warmth that show up on thermal imaging
🔥 You can find problems in wall cavities, ceilings, and subfloor areas without drilling a single hole
