🚨 When the bedroom door falls off... it's never a good sign! 🐜😲
This rental property in Ormeau had no idea termites were inside the home until the main bedroom door literally fell off its hinges. 😳
The culprit? Termites had eaten almost the entire door frame.
The owners did exactly the right thing. 👏
✅ Step 1: Eliminate the active termite infestation.
Once we were confident the termites had been successfully treated, we moved to the next stage...
✅ Step 2: Protect the home from future termite attacks.
For this property, we installed a Termidor® High Efficiency termite barrier along with a TermX Reticulation System. 💪🏡
One question we always ask our customers is:
"How long do you plan to keep the property?"
If the answer is long term, we almost always recommend installing a reticulation system. Why? 🤔
Because when the chemical reaches the end of its effective life (typically around 8 years), we simply connect our hoses to the reticulation system and recharge the barrier. 💧
✅ No digging up gardens.
✅ No trenching around the house.
✅ Less disruption.
✅ A smarter long-term investment.
Now for the not-so-funny case of déjà vu... 😬
Just two months ago, we installed a termite barrier at the owner-occupied home directly across the road after they also suffered termite damage.
So what's the common factor? 🤷♀️
🌳 South East Queensland
🌳 Homes backing onto or close to council land
🌳 Large mature gum trees
🌳 Older timber fences
🌳 Renovations completed without installing termite protection
These are all common risk factors we see time and time again.
🐜 Termites don't care whether it's a rental or your forever home. If your property hasn't had a professional termite inspection in the last 12 months, now is the time to ask the question.
