When the customer asks if the unit can be repaired, the answer is always the same: “Anything can be repaired! As long as we can get parts, and the cost of repair suits your budget”
Complete rebuild of a rusted through Samsung Ducted system in a large apartment complex we look after on a waterfront property.
The unit base was rusted through and the consdenser coil had sprung a leak.
After decommissioning and safely lowering the outdoor unit, we transfered the pipe stack, compressor and electrical assembly over to the new base, replaced the condenser coil along with every panel, fan motor bracket, fan motors and screws.
Treated the new base, coil and panels with rust treatment. Re-installed the outdoor into position, leak tested, evacuated and re-gassed.
The repair was a fraction of the cost of a unit replacement and the customer was happy with the outcome.
These units would have lasted longer if the builder spent a little extra and had the outdoors rust treated during installation. We are working with the body corp on having these units rust treated on site regularly.
