Out and about in Forbes and enjoying the paddock tree replacement projects where landholders have embraced the need to plan for next generation paddock trees.

Seen here semi mature eucalypt tree lines adjoin this magnificent old growth paddock tree.

Well designed shelter belts can deliver a multitude of benefits including shade and shelter for livestock, habitat for beneficial insects and native birds and property beautification.

A late afternoon plant lovers visit to The Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens.

As a former workplace a revisit is like trying on something well worn and familiar.

So much remains the same yet the growth rates tell the story of time.

All credit to the current Horticulture team, the presentation on this garden is exemplary.

Planting a trio of one of our favourite Australian Native Feature Trees - Eucalyptus pulverulenta 'Baby Blue'.

This stunning tree has globular blue foliage and on arching habit. It pairs well with blue form Lomandra and native blue grass.

We draw from our home property plantings to guide our Landscape Designs, improve our confidence in new and unusual plant varieties as well as provide plant specimens for our Client Consults and Horticultural Workshops.

Windbreaks anybody?

Did you know well designed windbreaks can reduce windspeed by around 60%, making life much more comfortable for people, plants and animals.

Image is of a newly planted rural residential property windbreak west of Orange, that we designed and installed.

Windbreaks can also provide screening from neighbouring sheds and development, wildlife habitat and property beautification.

Throwback to installation day of our Watersmart and Biodiversity Conservation Landscape for Bathurst Rail Museum.

For the majority of our Designs we recommend using Drip-Eze tube irrigation.

This easy to install product is laid on the soil, beneath mulch so water is in direct contact with the soil, thus reducing losses due to evapotranspiration and wind drift.

Front yard transformation of this in town residential garden.

With a generous planting of dwarf bottlebrush, grevilleas, native fuschias, and ornamental grasses this garden will bring the birds whilst still allowing plenty of sunlight to the north facing living area.

Soft tree ferns looking lush in this Clients south facing garden.

South facing gardens with shadow fall from the residence can be challenging especially over winter when soils can remain wet for several months.

Correct soil preparation and good planting method ensured this planting thrived.

These Soft Tree Ferns have risen to the challenge, providing lush green foliage year round. Low maintenance and native to the east coast of NSW and Tasmania.

For this project the opportunity presented itself to de-silt a dam and use the harvested soil to top dress an area that had previously been hard to manage, due to rocky outcrops and woody weeds.

A few tense moments over what was an unusually dry autumn with fingers crossed for a good grass seed germination.

The recent rains have been a blessing.

Swipe to see the before.

This previously hard to manage site now a carpet of verdant green perennial rye grass, soon to be supplement planted with River Sheoaks to beautify the site and provide future feed trees for the local Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos.

Earthworks handled to perfection by Little Dig Excavations.
