🌳 Thinking about removing a large tree from your property? 🌳
Recent changes to Victoria's planning regulations may mean you now require council approval before removing, or significantly pruning certain trees.
Under Clause 52.37 (Canopy Trees), many residential properties are now subject to additional requirements where larger trees are involved. These changes are aimed at protecting and increasing Victoria's urban tree canopy.
A tree may be considered a "canopy tree" if it exceeds certain height, trunk size and canopy spread measurements.
If you're planning renovations, a subdivision, a new build, or simply considering tree removal, it's worth seeking professional advice before work begins.
Unsure whether the new Canopy Tree regulations apply to your property?
Our team includes a Level 5 Qualified Arborist who can provide professional tree assessments, arborist reports and practical advice to help you understand your obligations and any council requirements that may apply.
Feel free to contact Tree Health & Safety to discuss your situation.
