It’s wonderful to see the newly upgraded Mount Pleasant Kitchen already making a positive impact in the community. We are proud to have been part of this project 🥰
We hope the new facility continues to serve the community well and opens up even more opportunities for local events and businesses.
The first breakfasts cooked in the newly upgraded Mount Pleasant Kitchen have been served at Mount Pleasant Farmers Market - Southern Barossa and the 161st annual show is next in line to use the spacious facility this weekend!
Meeting all the latest environmental health requirements for food safety, Mount Pleasant Farmers Market - Southern Barossa manager, Chelsea Honner, is thrilled to see the kitchen back in action.
"It's a wonderful upgrade for our community," says Chelsea.
"We obviously use it weekly for the market, but it's going to open a lot of opportunity for the community to use it for other things too."
A servery now opens directly to the outside space under the vines, as well as inside the atrium, and Chelsea welcomes the ability to expand and diversify offerings.
"In terms of food safety, our stallholders can feel confident that they can come in here and produce something, like jams and butter, knowing it is a commercial standard kitchen," she adds.
Zana Irwin, Council's Project manager, Capital Delivery, praised all involved.
"A big shout out to BGi Building Group for the fantastic job they have done building the new facility and to the community, particularly the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market - Southern Barossa, for their support throughout the project."
