We are excited to be delivering a major civil and landscaping upgrade to the UTS: University of Technology Sydney entrance on The Goods Line.

The project includes the demolition of an existing 25-tonne concrete bridge, the construction of a new DDA-compliant lift and staircase, and the completion of the surrounding landscaping and public spaces.

Graphite was engaged through an early contractor involvement process before the DA was finalised. This allowed us to investigate the site, identify potential construction challenges, and work collaboratively with the project team to develop a practical design and delivery strategy.

It is a privilege to deliver something that will improve the experience for students, staff and the wider community.

We’re excited to share that Graphite recently hosted Elspeth as part of Tomorrow’s Women in Construction (TWIC), an initiative that inspires young women to explore and consider careers in construction.

TWIC, founded by women in architecture, engineering, building, and project management, helps high school girls discover the diverse opportunities in construction through real stories and insights.

During her week with us, Elspeth worked alongside our Project Coordinators, Navya and Monica, gaining hands-on experience in project coordination, tendering, estimating, site management, and workplace safety.

A significant milestone has been reached on the UTS CB01 Facade Replacement Project, with the first glazing panels now being installed on the iconic atrium facade.

Delivered under an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) model, this project involved more than 12 months of collaborative planning, design development and construction methodology to safely execute a highly complex facade replacement within a live university environment.

The scope involves demolition works, extensive remedial waterproofing and replacement of the existing glazed facade, delivering a new compliant, engineered facade system while preserving the architectural significance of the CB01 atrium.

The glazing installation is a technically demanding operation. To date, the new facade comprises 18 structural glass fins, ranging from 4 to 8 metres high, with various fins extending from floor to ceiling to create the striking transparent atrium. Installation is being carried out using a crawler crane fitted with dual glass suction attachments, enabling the safe and precise placement of the large glass panels onto the steel support canopy.

Prior to glazing, the team completed detailed "toothing out" of the existing brickwork to install new structural support posts on both the eastern and western sides, providing the framework required for the new facade system.

This milestone reflects the outstanding collaboration between the client, consultants, subcontractors and project team, whose detailed planning and commitment to quality continue to drive the project forward safely and efficiently.

We're looking forward to seeing the new facade continue to take shape over the coming weeks.

Project Completion: Delivering Healthcare Spaces at Opal Epping Wellness Centre

Moving into a residential aged care is a significant life transition. A thoughtfully designed environment can make all the difference, providing comfort, dignity and a sense of home.

Opal Healthcare is Australia's largest residential aged care provider by operational places, with 148 communities across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.

When Bloompark sought a delivery partner for Opal's fitout of a newly constructed Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF), Graphite was selected to deliver the works.

The scope included:
• Waiting area
• Health consultation rooms
• Floor work and rehabilitation/gym area
• Tea and water point
• Treatment rooms
• Clinical hand wash bay
• Storage and support facilities

Working within an occupied aged care environment required careful planning and coordination to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of residents while minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.
