NECA EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2026🏆

We’re grateful to have been recognised at the recent NECA TAS Excellence Awards, taking home four awards and a highly commended.

Our Bridgewater Bridge ITS & CCTV Project was recognised with the Data & Communications Excellence Award and a Highly Commended in the Commercial Small category... for a project that involved 42,000 metres of cabling, 38 CCTV cameras, Variable Message Signs and lane management systems delivered to an exceptional standard.

We were also recognised with the WHS Excellence in Action Award for our Apprentice Training Boards, and the Leaders in Diversity Award for our continued commitment to building a more inclusive industry.

A special mention to our own Annah Fromberg, who was named winner of the womeninelectrotas Women in Energy Award... a wonderful recognition of her work championing diversity across the industry.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | HOBART TOWN HALL BALLROOM & COUNCIL CHAMBERS ✨

Congratulations to our Audio-Visual team, who have just completed an impressive upgrade of the heritage-listed Hobart Town Hall and Council Chambers.

The magnificent Town Hall ballroom has played host to countless special occasions since 1866 — balls, wedding receptions, public meetings, floral festivals and concerts. Now, it's been given a state-of-the-art AV upgrade to match its storied history.

Contact Group worked closely with Australis Music Group to design a fit-for-purpose K-Array loudspeaker and amplifier system, integrated with a Midas rack-mounted digital mixer and stage box. The speakers were carefully selected and positioned to blend seamlessly into the heritage surroundings... virtually invisible to the eye, while still delivering incredible sound and acoustics throughout the space.

The upgrade also included subwoofers, wireless microphones, and four tie-line connection plates providing video, audio and data connectivity throughout the space... all controlled through a custom app for maximum flexibility 🔊

Contact Group also delivered a major upgrade of the Council Chambers video conferencing system, including new Councillor displays, broadcast-quality cameras and wireless microphones. One of the biggest challenges was concealing all new cabling to heritage standards... after timber casing proved unworkable, the team designed a custom steel solution with a local fabricator, ultimately earning sign-off from City of Hobart heritage consultant.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to life... a fantastic result for such an iconic Tasmanian building 👏

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | IMAS TAROONA 🐟

A big shoutout to our technicians onsite at the IMAS Taroona facility, as we wrap up our largest project to date after just over two years onsite 👏

Contact Group has delivered the lights & lighting control, power, data, comms, dry fire, laboratory gas, security, audio-visual and high-voltage installation across this state-of-the-art research facility ⚡️

The building includes teaching labs, a wet lab, and research facilities that will help strengthen the Institute’s work to conserve threatened species like the red hand fish and monitor climate change 🌊

Contact Group also installed the gas reticulation system supplying oxygen straight to the fish tanks and a variety of other gases — plus the atmospheric monitoring systems (oxygen enrichment, ozone detection, CO2 monitoring) for the processing areas.

It’s the largest atmospheric monitoring job we’ve taken on, and a brilliant opportunity for our apprentices to see multiple disciplines in action.

Research facilities like this one are so important for Tasmania and for protecting our marine environment, and we all feel honoured to be part of the project.

Contact Group was proud to support eight young players from the BGH Breakers netball program to take part in the Australian Sports Camps
(ASC) Netball Camp during the July school holidays.

For the Breakers players, the experience was about more than just netball. It was a chance to step outside their usual routines, meet new people and have a go in a different environment alongside others who share their passion for the sport.

Well done BGH Breakers 👏👏👏
