A day in the life of getting my pool water tested at Poolside Noosa! 🤩

Take a look at our BTS of what happens at the testing bench!💦This pool went cloudy after wind and rain 💨🌧️ after proper testing, it was found that the phosphates were very high (from the leaves) which caused the water to go cloudy! With proper treatment and some chemicals added, the pool cleared within a day! ☀️

Clear pool water usually comes down to a few consistent habits.

First, check whether acid is needed rather than guessing. Second, backwash or clean your filter monthly. Third, bring in a water sample each month, or sooner if the water starts looking dull.

The common mistake is throwing in extra chlorine, clarifier or algae treatment without knowing what is actually causing the problem.

That approach can waste time and money. In some cases, adding more product can make the water harder to correct.

When bringing in a sample, it also helps to show us photos of the water and equipment, plus tell us what chemicals were recently added.

A slightly cloudy pool might not look like a major problem, but it is often the first sign that something is out of balance.

Recent windy weather around Noosa has pushed plenty of leaves, flowers and debris into local pools. That can affect chlorine levels, filtration and the overall water balance.

We often hear, “It was only a little cloudy yesterday.” A few days later, the bottom is hard to see or algae has started growing.

Sometimes the water may improve by itself. Sometimes it will not. The safest step is to find out what is causing the change before adding random chemicals or leaving it too long.

Most pool problems are cheaper and easier to fix when they are caught early.
