Behind the scenes — fed-pole, pure water, no walking on the panels.

This is the kit we use across every solar clean. The pole extends up to the array, the soft brush head lifts the soiling, and the pure water rinses it all away without leaving anything behind on the glass.

A few reasons we do it this way. No one walks on the panels, so no risk of micro-cracking the cells. No chemicals or detergents, so nothing's running into your roof or gutters. And because the water has the minerals stripped out, panels dry streak-free.

It's just the two of us on every job — Craig and Harvey, no subcontractors, the same blokes you spoke to on the phone are the ones up on your roof.

Here's what years of roof grime actually looks like up close.

This was a Doonan roof we cleaned recently. From the driveway it probably looked like a slightly dark roof. Up close, the truth was clear — moss, lichen, organic staining across the tiles, working into the ridges and starting to push moisture where it shouldn't go.

Roof cleaning isn't just about how it looks. The growth holds moisture against the tiles, and over the years that quietly shortens the life of the roof. A soft-wash every few years keeps it in check.

We use a low-pressure approach so nothing gets lifted that shouldn't be, careful around solar mounts and gutters. No high-pressure blasting that does more harm than good.

If your roof has gone darker over the last couple of years, worth a look.

Up in the hinterland the panels really do cop a workout — pollen from the gums, dust off the gravel roads, the odd bit of bird traffic. From the ground you'd never know. Up on the roof though, the buildup is right there.

One visit with the pure water system and the whole array is back to clean glass. No chemicals, no streaking, no residue running into your gutters.

Worth a tidy-up if you haven't had yours looked at in a year or two. We're across Cooroy, Pomona, Eumundi and the rest of the hinterland.

Jo in Bli Bli had us out for a roof clean and was kind enough to leave us her thoughts after. Roof cleaning is one of those jobs where the difference is immediate — moss and lichen gone, dark organic staining lifted off the tiles, and the whole roofline looking the way it was meant to.

We use a soft-wash approach where the roof calls for it, with care taken around solar mounts, ridge caps and gutters. No high pressure where it could lift tiles or push water under coverings.

Why we use pure water — and what that actually means.

The water that runs through our system goes through a deionising tank first. That strips out all the minerals — calcium, magnesium, the bits that leave water spots on glass when it dries.

What you end up with is water so clean it actually wants to pick up dirt rather than leave anything behind. Run a soft brush across the panels, rinse with that pure water, and the soiling comes off without chemicals or detergents.

The panels dry streak-free. Nothing on the roof, nothing in the gutters. Just clean glass doing its job again.

This shot is from a recent Veteran job out near Gympie. Same approach we use whether it's a coastal home in Noosa or a hinterland property in Imbil.
