Some backyards make the pool decision easy.

Others need a little more thinking.

This 12m Shipping Container Pool was installed on a significantly sloping block, so the answer wasn't to try to make the backyard flat.

It was to understand the site and design around what was already there.

That meant considering the slope, house position, access, levels, structure and how the finished pool would actually work within the property.

The result is a pool that doesn't feel like it was forced onto a difficult block. It feels like it belongs there.

That's the difference good site planning can make.

If you're looking at your backyard thinking, “I'm not sure a pool would even work here,” don't rule it out just yet.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲?

For this project, the obvious option would have been to run the pool parallel with the home.

But when we looked at the property as a whole, a different layout made more sense.

So we positioned the pool at approximately 𝟰𝟬° 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, creating a more dynamic relationship between the pool, home and surrounding outdoor space.

It's a good example of why we don't believe every backyard should have the same pool layout.
