Research from the Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA) on road worker safety indicates that road workers across Australia are:
🔘 Verbally assaulted by drivers on average once a week
🔘 Struck or nearly struck by a vehicle on average once a month.

This is Nick. He’s a road worker and a dad of a puppy named Charlie, who loves belly rubs and walks. When Nick displays a slow sign at a road worksite, it’s not to hold you up or make you late – it’s so he can manage traffic to get you and other drivers home safely. Please slow down. Road workers are people too.

Research from the Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA) on road worker safety indicates that road workers across Australia are:
🔘 Verbally assaulted by drivers on average once a week
🔘 Struck or nearly struck by a vehicle on average once a month.

Meet Alex. She’s a road worker and a proud mum of two young girls. They love to go camping and roast marshmallows. Reduced speed limits around road worksites have been designed to keep drivers and road workers safe. Following these limits is also the law and penalties can apply if not followed, including losing your licence or receiving a fine or demerit points. Please slow down. Road workers are people too.

Roarke’s a road worker who’s known as ‘The rock’ on the footy field. He likes this name, but not the ones that get yelled at him simply for doing his job to safely manage traffic. No one deserves to be yelled at when they’re at work, including road workers. Please be respectful. Road workers are people too.
