ACRO attended to a glass-door underbench fridge holding water at a hospitality venue in Broadbeach, Gold Coast.

The challenge:
A blocked drain had allowed water to collect inside the cabinet. Poor drainage can create hygiene concerns, affect presentation and interfere with day-to-day venue operations.

Our solution:
The drain blockage was cleared using nitrogen, and the drain line was flushed to restore the flow path. The fridge was then tested for correct operation.

The result:
The drain was cleared, the cabinet passed testing and the unit was left in working order.

ACRO repaired an underbench fridge with a seized condenser fan motor at a hospitality venue in Broadbeach, Gold Coast.

The challenge:
A seized condenser fan restricts airflow across the condenser, which can affect heat rejection and prevent the cabinet from operating correctly.

Our solution:
The failed fan motor was removed and replaced with a new EBM fan motor. The unit was then restarted and tested under operating conditions.

The result:
The underbench fridge passed testing and was left operating correctly following the fan-motor replacement.

A low refrigerant charge was corrected on a commercial refrigeration system at a hospitality venue in Broadbeach, Gold Coast.

The challenge:
Insufficient refrigerant can cause reduced cooling capacity and inefficient system operation. Simply adding refrigerant without addressing the leak would not provide a responsible repair.

Our solution:
ACRO first repaired the leaking suction service-port connection. R404A was then added to restore the required refrigerant level, followed by operational checks.

The result:
The system’s refrigerant level was restored after the leak point had been repaired, and its operation was checked before handover.

ACRO repaired a refrigerant leak affecting a commercial condensing system at a hospitality venue in Broadbeach, Gold Coast.

The challenge:
The system had a low refrigerant charge caused by a leak at the suction service port. A continuing leak can reduce cooling performance and place unnecessary strain on refrigeration equipment.

Our solution:
The leaking service connection was identified and a new valve installed. Once the leak point was addressed, the refrigerant level was restored using R404A.

The result:
The service-port fault was repaired and the system was checked after the refrigerant charge was restored.

ACRO attended a hospitality venue in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, after several underbench refrigeration systems stopped performing correctly.

The challenge:
One service call involved three different faults: a condensing system with a low refrigerant charge, an underbench fridge with a seized condenser fan motor, and a glass-door fridge holding water because of a blocked drain. Leaving these issues unresolved could affect temperature control and disrupt bar operations.

Our solution:
ACRO inspected each affected system individually, identified the cause of each fault and completed the required refrigeration, fan-motor and drainage work.

The result:

ACRO managed a controlled shutdown while working on a refrigerated container at a Wacol, Brisbane, container facility.

The challenge:
The unit had already been tagged as failed by another refrigeration provider. Testing and commissioning could not continue until the existing tag-out and access requirements were addressed.

Our solution:
The tag-out condition was documented, the electrical supply remained off during shutdown, and the control cabinet condition was recorded. ACRO coordinated the next steps with the client and supplier while the controller issue was investigated.

The result:
No unsupported operational handover was made. The container remained off while the unresolved controller settings and final client instructions were managed.

Controller wiring was carefully documented during work on a refrigerated container at a Wacol, Brisbane, container facility.

The challenge:
The control cabinet contained multiple plugs, ribbon cables and electrical connections. Replacing the PC board required each connection to return to the correct position.

Our solution:
ACRO marked the electrical connections and photographed the controller assembly before disconnecting the existing board. The replacement PC board was then installed using the recorded connection positions.

The result:
The controller changeover was completed methodically with the connections clearly identified. Start-up testing later revealed a separate programming issue that required supplier support.
