We are answering some of the questions we get asked most often, from how we work to why we do things the way we do. If you are new around here, this one is a good place to start.

We are not ashamed to admit we love peeping what people have going on in their meter box. 👀

This one was a good one. The EDMI Atlas MK10D is doing the heavy lifting, managing the three phase supply and tracking the solar export back to the grid. Sitting alongside it is the MK7A, handling the controlled load separately, in this case the off peak hot water system running on its own circuit and its own tariff to keep energy costs down.

Two meters working together means this household is pulling from the grid when it is cheapest, exporting solar when production is highest, and running the hot water on a controlled load rate that costs significantly less than peak pricing.

Satisfying? Absolutely. ⚫️

You know the one. The neighbour who leans over the fence the moment you mention solar and says "you can't put that there." 👀

And look, sometimes they are not entirely wrong. But whether panels can go on your roof, where they should go, and how many you can actually fit is not something anyone can tell you from a driveway conversation.

Roof pitch, orientation, shading, structural integrity, your metering setup, the list of things that actually determine a solar layout is longer than most people realise. Which is exactly why we come to site before we recommend anything.

If you have been putting off the solar conversation because someone told you it would not work for your home, it might be worth getting a second opinion from someone who has actually been up there.

A power point on a kitchen splashback. Simple right? 👀

What most people see is a cover plate and two outlets. What we see is a splashback zone compliance check, a circuit load assessment, cable routing through a finished wall cavity, and earth continuity testing before we energise a single thing.

Every job Delta touches gets this level of consideration regardless of how straightforward it looks from the outside. That is what doing it properly actually means.

Unlike standard electrical work inside your home, ASP Level 2 work happens at the connection point between your property...
06/08/2026

Unlike standard electrical work inside your home, ASP Level 2 work happens at the connection point between your property and the live electricity network. That network cannot always be fully isolated before we start, which means working in close proximity to live voltage. The specific risk is arc flash, where electrical current travels through the air creating an intense blast of heat and pressure. It is not a risk standard electricians regularly face.

So why do we require a separate accreditation? Because a standard electrical licence does not cover this work. ASP Level 2 is a completely separate certification covering network infrastructure, safe work practices, and compliance obligations. It is NOT an add on. It is an entirely different qualification requiring additional training and authorisation from the network operator.

In NSW it is illegal to work on these jobs without an ASP Level 2 accreditation under section 31A of the Electricity Supply Act 1995. Between 2020 and 2021 alone, contact with electricity in NSW resulted in two fatalities and 569 serious injuries. The accreditation requirement exists because the consequences of getting this wrong are very real and at Delta, we take our safety seriously.

We are growing and we are looking for the right person to grow with us. 👏

At Delta we do things properly. That means the work is quality, the team is tight, and the standard we hold ourselves to does not change depending on who is on the tools that day. If that sounds like the environment you want to be part of, keep reading.

We are hiring a qualified electrician for a full time role across commercial maintenance, solar and battery installations across Newcastle and the Hunter. Four day working week available most weeks, company vehicle, and a genuine training pathway into Level 2 ASP and solar if that is the direction you want to grow.

This one would suit someone who wants solid work, real career progression, and a better lifestyle than what Sydney is offering right now.

Before you accepted your last solar quote, did you think to ask who was actually going to show up and do the work? 👀

Or whether the company installing it would still be around in five years to honour the warranty?

Here we covers the three questions most people never think to ask until after the install is done. Worth knowing before you sign anything. ☀️

The solar industry has a trust problem and a big part of that comes down to people not knowing the right questions to ask before they commit. Share something below that you wish you had known before going solar. We are building a series around your answers because the more informed people are going into this decision, the better outcomes they get on the other side of it.

This ones worth a watch before you sign anything. 👀

Solar warranties come with a lot of fine print. And most people sign off on them without fully understanding what they are actually covered for. ☀️

Let’s walk you through the difference between your product warranty and your workmanship warranty, what each one actually covers, and what happens if your installer goes out of business before you ever need to make a claim.
