One project. Two specialist teams. One complete commercial kitchen solution. 👨‍🍳⚡

GBE Group’s Commercial Catering team recently supplied and installed this UNOX CHEFTOP MIND.Maps PLUS 10-tray combi oven, complete with a ventless hood and high stand.

Our Electrical Contracting team also installed the new three-phase power supply required to operate the equipment.

With automatic cooking programs, integrated Wi-Fi and the flexibility to roast, steam, grill, brown, fry and more, this setup gives a busy commercial kitchen greater versatility and repeatable cooking results.

Need new catering equipment supplied, installed or serviced?

GBE Group can coordinate both the equipment and the supporting electrical work.

Port facilities. Industrial testing labs. What proper electrical maintenance looks like at that scale:

Motor condition monitoring — tracking winding degradation over time to schedule controlled replacement before failure.

Thermographic scanning — identifying hotspots in MCCs and switchgear before they cause serious damage at industrial operating currents.

Safety interlock verification — confirmed active and correctly wired on every service visit. The most important check in safety-critical environments.

Compliance documentation — every service recorded to AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 4024. A compliance record, not a docket.

GBE provides industrial machine servicing across NSW. 30 years. 150 staff. Newcastle-based.

Time to make sure the compliance program is set up correctly from the start.

Three areas to confirm:

Test & Tag — correct AS/NZS 3760 intervals applied for every environment, including workshops. Asset register current. Documentation audit-ready.

Switchboard — licensed electrical inspection completed. RCDs tested and confirmed operational. Thermographic scan done.

Emergency & Exit Lighting — monthly functional tests documented. 6-monthly half-duration discharge completed. Annual 90-minute test on record.

One GBE site visit covers all three.

Has your industrial control system ever been formally audited?

For most facilities, the answer is no — unless something failed and triggered a review.

A proper control system service covers:

Sensor calibration verification against actual operating conditions.
Safety interlock testing — confirming all interlocks are active and correctly wired.
Setpoint review to confirm the system is running to design intent.
PLC program version check against current documentation.
Control loop performance review.

Systems running 3 or more years without a formal review will almost always have something that needs attention.

GBE provides industrial control system maintenance across NSW — Hunter Region, Central Coast, port infrastructure.

A control system ran incorrectly for 2 years at an industrial facility. No alarm. No alert. Nobody knew.

Three things that caused it — found on the same visit:

A bypassed safety interlock that was isolated to keep production running and never reinstated.

A sensor running 5% out of calibration — the system was acting on the wrong process data.

A PLC program that no longer matched the documentation — three modifications made, nothing updated.

We find at least one of these on almost every industrial site we audit for the first time.

GBE provides industrial control system audits and maintenance across NSW.

Month 1: Nothing wrong.
Month 9: Unplanned shutdown.

Here's what happened in between:

Months 1–3: Motor winding resistance trending down, VSD capacitor losing capacitance. No alarm. No visible sign.

Months 4–6: Marginal performance drop. Operators adjust. The new normal becomes normal.

Months 7–9: Shutdown during peak production.

A thermographic scan at month two would have found it. Cost: approximately $400.
The unplanned shutdown it would have prevented: approximately $40,000.

GBE provides industrial machine servicing across NSW — the maintenance program that intercepts the shutdown.

Running multiple kitchens across your organisation without a unified maintenance program creates gaps between sites that only show up when you're audited.

Common findings on first inspection:

No service history at some sites at all.
Different testing intervals applied at each location — no documentation explaining why.
Test and tag not aligned to the kitchen environment classification.
No single compliance view across the estate.

GBE builds unified catering equipment maintenance programs for multi-site organisations — one asset register, one compliance report structure, and one point of contact across every location.

Same licence. Very different skill set.

Industrial machine servicing covers things most commercial electricians don't routinely do:

Motor condition monitoring — insulation resistance testing to track winding degradation before it becomes a failure.

Variable speed drive servicing — cooling systems, capacitors, and parameter settings. A failed VSD can take the motor with it.

Safety interlock verification — bypassed interlocks are the most common finding on industrial sites. Every visit: confirm all interlocks are active and correctly wired.

Thermographic scanning — identifying hotspots in MCCs at operating current before they become significant faults.

GBE provides industrial machine servicing across NSW for port infrastructure, industrial testing facilities, and manufacturing operations.

The commercial oven doesn't fail suddenly. It fails over months — and nobody notices until it does.

Common findings on first inspections at kitchens running reactive-only maintenance:

Heating elements at 60% output — no visible sign from the outside, just inconsistent cooking results.

Dishwashers running below wash temperature — scale buildup, blocked spray arms, food safety risk that doesn't look like one.

Ovens calibrated once at installation and never checked since — running 15°C below setpoint.

Not edge cases. We find these on almost every first visit.

GBE maintains commercial catering equipment for venues, healthcare facilities, and aged care providers across the Hunter.

5 contractors or 1?

Here's what 10pm looks like when you have five separate FM providers:
Five phone calls. Five service histories. Five invoices. Five people checking whose scope it falls under.

Here's what it looks like with one consolidated GBE contract:
One call. One team. One asset register. One compliance record.

GBE manages FM programs for hospitals, universities, and shopping centres across the Hunter — electrical, automatic doors, catering equipment, test and tag, switchboards, and emergency response, all under one agreement.
