Meet Steve! 👋 He’s our warehouse manager.

A *few* years ago, Steve’s got his first job at a soft-drink factory. Then he left school at 15 and got a job as a purchasing store clark for an engineering company.

Since then, he’s had a varied career in logistics and procurement. He’s retired about 5 times, and we were lucky enough to have him join Solahart Newcastle a year ago.

“I like getting out into the warehouse and keeping active. I also enjoy the challenge of helping a company improve its systems.”

We’re glad to have you Steve, thanks for keeping us organised!

Can I add an Electric Vehicle to my solar power system?

Yes! Something to consider when looking to add an EV... there’s a good chance that you will need to modify your solar solution to best suit your needs.

This home in Eleebana received a free inverter upgrade, and they also added an additional 15 panels too. A 24 kWh 3 phase battery helps ensure the household will be utilising solar to charge their EV.

Energy needs change. So can your solar power system. Give us a call to find out what battery might best suit your home.

A moment for the koalas. 🐨

It’s hard to be an animal hospital without power. By adding 7 x 9.9 kWh batteries to their system, and an additional 76 panels, they’re not just backup-ready, they are reducing their power bill too! This means more money spent on what matters most - saving koalas and other wildlife.Port Stephens Koala Hospital are an incredible organisation, with a small team of skilled staff, backed by over 200 volunteers.

If current trends were to continue, koalas could go extinct by 2050. Karen and her team are helping koalas and other native wildlife thrive. They give koalas the best chance to return to the wild where they belong. If you’d like to find out more, or donate your time or finances to Port Stephens Koala Hospital, check out portstephenskoalas.com.au today.

How can I reduce my summer power bill? Honestly, it's a fair question...

We all love sitting in the air-conditioned comfort of our own home, but the last thing you want to think about in that moment is the power bill.

So, here's some practical steps you can take to reduce your summer power bill:
- Run your major appliances during the day. Dishwasher, laundry, even your pool pump. They can be set to a timer to use electricity when you are capturing the most.
- Add a battery to your existing system. Whilst you capture energy through your panels when the sun is shining, having an ability to store this power will mean you continue to save during the night.
- Lastly, when was the last time you checked your power bill? It's worth considering. In particular, if you have a solar battery, switching to a provider that offers higher feed-in tariffs for any energy that you export.

Interest rates are rising and home owners are feeling the pinch.

The RBA has now raised interest rates four times this year, taking the cash rate to 4.60%.

For a homeowner with an average mortgage, those four rate rises could mean around $440 more in monthly repayments.

That’s a lot of pressure on the household budget.

You can’t control interest rates. But you can take control of the energy bills you can do something about.

Talk to us about how solar and battery storage could help take control of your power bills.

You might be asking yourself, "What size solar system does my business need?"

The desired outcome will drive your decision making process.

Looking at a system we installed in Warners Bay, you can see what's possible.

We installed a 48 kWh GoodWe Battery, paired with a 30kW inverter and 118 panels, which is 60KW of capture on the roof.

All up, this church has gone from being 100% reliant on the grid to 8% reliant on the grid. This enables them to use their funds on what matters most, rather than simply spending on power bills.

Solar Power is a smart move for organisations and businesses looking to reduce unnecessary spending and fix their costs now and into the future.
