Safe to say, he likes them curvy 🦛

We’re super proud of our newest apprentice, H A Y L E Y K E S B Y, for bringing these curves to life at our Burwood Road project.

With a solid background in joinery, Hayley made light work of these beauties. They add so much character to the space, softening the lines and naturally guiding you through the home.

Next up, the main area curves will be finished in a limewash paint, adding another layer of texture and interest. We can’t wait to see these beauties finished!

This is a really horrible point to get to.

You’ve already spent a heap of money. The plans are done. Approvals are through. You’ve probably been talking about this house for a year or more.

Telling friends. Showing family.

Then the price comes back and it’s not even close.

So naturally, you think maybe another builder will come back cheaper.

Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don’t. Either way, if the design itself hasn’t been properly tested against the budget, you’re still left with the same problem.

We’ve seen people get to this point and genuinely think they need to scrap the whole thing.

Usually, that’s not where we’d start.

We’d want to know why it’s over budget first.

Because there’s a big difference between a house that needs a few smart changes and a house that needs to go back to square one.

If you’re sitting with plans right now wondering what the hell to do next, give us a call before you redraw them.

Spring has sprung — and so has this build.

We’ve well and truly broken the back of this one now, and it’s been every bit as rewarding as it has been challenging.

Building on the edge of an escarpment, on a tight and complex site, is certainly not for the faint-hearted. It’s taken careful planning, problem-solving and plenty of manoeuvring to get to this stage.

These are the projects we love — the ones that require experience, thought and a solid plan from day one.

Planning to build your dream home?

Before you even think about submitting a DA or investing in engineering, get a builder across the job.

You want to know early:

• What is this actually going to cost?
• Does the scope match the budget?
• What can be changed if it doesn’t?
• Can anything be staged?
• Is there anything we’re missing from a construction point of view?

Our $800 Feasibility Study gives us the chance to look at the project properly before you invest thousands more into the next stages.

It includes:

• Real site information
• Real supplier pricing where needed
• A detailed estimate that gives you real-world guidance on the build — not a ballpark figure or generic m² rate

If the numbers don’t quite work, we can look at reducing scope, staging parts of the build or making changes before everything is locked in.

That small $800 investment can save thousands of dollars and hours later.

Much better to have that conversation now than after the DA is approved and the engineering is done.
