This one had old 6mm copper cable running in, rated to 40 amps, and the usual size should be 16mm

I let the customer know there was an opportunity to run a bigger cable and move from two-phase to three-phase while the work was already happening

That way, if they want to do it now, they’re not paying to do it up twice

We’re checking the levels, getting enough concrete in around it, and making sure the setting is solid before we move on

This one’s about getting more clearance over the driveway, so the overheads aren’t sagging through the middle of it

The rafter bracket sets the pole back a bit, which helps create that extra height for larger vehicles coming through

That white cable’s had enough sun on it

You can see the outer layer starting to break down, and once that happens the insulation underneath is exposed

If both cables are worn and sitting close together, they can start arcing or sparking under load

That’s the sort of thing I’d rather catch early than wait until it turns into a bigger job and a power issue at the house
