How do you know if a tree is dangerous? This one at Worongary on the Gold Coast looked perfectly healthy. Once we opened it up, termites had been through most of the trunk. A tree can look healthy in the canopy and be structurally gone at the base. The real condition of a tree isn't always visible until it's inspected by an experienced arborist. 🌳 Giving Back to Our Local Wildlife 🦉🐣
At Tree Essence, we believe great arboriculture isn’t just about looking after trees — it’s about looking after the ecosystems they support. We were proud to donate and install a number of recycled hollows recently, generously provided by a dedicated local wildlife rescuer, to help create safe, natural habitats for some of our region’s feathered locals.
Natural tree hollows can take decades — sometimes over a century — to form, so opportunities like this to give displaced or at-risk wildlife a ready-made home are always close to our hearts. From owls to parrots to our smaller nesting friends, every box installed is a step toward a healthier, more balanced canopy here on the Gold Coast and beyond.
