Another Day Another Door — and this time, a window too.

We replaced the old sliding doors with two sets of French doors and updated the diamond-pane window to match. White frames and brushed brass hardware give the whole area a fresh look while keeping its character.

A clever solution for an awkward opening. 🔨

This open stairwell needed the option to be completely closed off without installing a permanent wall or losing access to the upper level.

We designed and installed a custom folding door system that closes neatly across the entire opening, then folds back out of the way when full access is needed.

A practical upgrade that provides greater separation and privacy while still working with the existing layout of the home.

Load-bearing wall removal. Existing non-structural wall replaced with engineered LVL beams and structural posts. Built right. Built to last. 🔨

What started as a simple wall removal turned into a structural surprise. 🔨

Once we opened it up, it became obvious this wall was carrying far more load than expected. The roof structure was bearing onto it through multiple props, with the ceiling joists also landing on the top plate.

The biggest surprise? Underneath all that load there was very little supporting it. Time to do it properly.

We installed a new engineered structural beam and rebuilt the support system so the loads are transferred correctly. Safe to say this house now has a whole lot more structural integrity than it did before.

This is exactly why you never assume what’s hiding behind plaster. Every house tells a different story.
