What an incredible experience.

Currently over in China visiting the Sungrow factory, and I honestly can’t thank Sungrow and Supply Partners enough for making this trip possible.

To see firsthand the scale, innovation, technology, and quality control that goes into these products has been pretty mind-blowing. It’s given me even more confidence in the products we’re installing for our customers back home.

It’s also been great meeting people from across the industry, sharing ideas, and getting a look behind the scenes at one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies.

Massive thank you again to Sungrow and our supply partners for the opportunity and hospitality. Very grateful to be here and looking forward to bringing plenty of knowledge back.

⚡️ POWERING THE COMMUNITY ⚡️

We’re proud to have just completed a solar + battery system for the Nanango Netball Courts 🙌

Thanks to a recent grant, the club has been able to invest in a system that will slash their ongoing power bills and keep things running sustainably for years to come 🌱☀️

This is what it’s all about — backing local communities, supporting grassroots sport, and helping clubs put their money where it matters most… back into the players and facilities.

Massive thanks to the team for trusting us with the install — we’re stoked to be a part of it 💪

DEAD COW GULLY 2026 – A BIT OF A PERSONAL CHALLENGE

I’ve been lucky enough that my cousin Timothy Walsh has given me a free entry into Dead Cow Gully this year if I make 8 laps 😅

So I’ve decided to step up and give something pretty far outside my comfort zone a crack, my first ultra marathon.

The goal is simple (but definitely not easy)…
👉 Complete 8 laps

And to make it a little more interesting…
👉 As soon as the event finishes on the 30th, I’ll be driving straight to Brisbane and jumping on a midnight flight to China for an all expenses paid trip by my solar suppliers

I also want to tie this into something bigger than just myself.

👉 If I don’t complete the 8 laps, I’ll personally donate $2,500 to a charity — I’d love for you guys to help choose where it goes.

👉 From now until May 30, I’ll also donate $10 from every job we complete at Mangan’s Electrical

👉 And regardless of how that goes, we’ll make sure at least $1,000 gets donated

For a bit of perspective…

Last year, Phil Gore set the bar pretty high at Dead Cow Gully with 119 laps (798km) over nearly 5 days.

I’m not aiming anywhere near that — just looking to challenge myself and see what I’m capable of.

A few weeks back we had the absolute pleasure of completing an off-grid system for Byron and his wife — and honestly… what an experience.

These two are running an off-grid living YouTube channel and doing some seriously cool stuff 👏

Zac & Sam absolutely frothing over this one 😂⚡️

Pulled out a system that wasn’t even 10 years old… already on its way out.
Customer couldn’t get the original installers to come to the party, so they made the call to go local and get it sorted properly 👊🏼

We’ve rebuilt it with a Sungrow hybrid + battery setup — running hybrid now, but sized right so they can flick the switch and go fully off-grid down the track if they want.

That’s the kicker with Sungrow…
The hybrid inverter is the off-grid inverter.

No replacing gear. No dramas later.
Just a few setting tweaks, dial in the switchboard… and it’s ready when they are 🔋⚡️

🍂 What’s hiding under your solar panels?

You’d be surprised what we find when we get up on roofs…

Leaves, bark, bird nests and debris can build up underneath solar panels over time — especially this time of year. Not only can this reduce the performance of your system, but it can also become a serious fire hazard if it’s left to build up around electrical components.

⚡ Fun fact 1:
Solar panels can reach 65°C–75°C on a hot Queensland day, which means dry debris underneath them can heat up quickly.

⚡ Fun fact 2:
Even a small amount of shading or debris can reduce solar production by 10–25%, costing you money in lost energy.

Regular inspections and maintenance help keep your system running efficiently and safely for years to come.

If you’ve got solar and haven’t had someone check underneath the panels in a while, it might be worth taking a look 👀
