Working out what the roof shingles can be reused for. Maybe a kitchen range hood or panelling a storage nook. Beautiful to look at even after its years of sitting under the corroding iron sheets. Simple back then. Work with what you got. Use proper materials and orientate your home correctly.

Renovation, restoration or just making a mess. All in a days work. Alison saving a little of the outside whilst I couldn’t save the ceiling inside. Too many years of water coming in did little to dilute the possum wee, just added to the rot. Shame I had different hopes! All cement render gone, bowing walls coming down to be rebuilt, corners too, all before a complete roof restoration and then it’s glory trade time. A few weeks to go yet!!

Whilst the scratched lime and sand settles down for a bit at the beach I popped inside for a front room makeover. Plaster, bricks, plasterboard and carpentry stuff to put the room back a little like it should have been. Magically stretching the existing skirting to some new areas. Funny what people do when they cover original beauty with misguided tinkering.
