🔨 ENTRY-LEVEL LEADING HAND – QUALIFIED CARPENTER

Exton Building Co | South-East Melbourne & Mornington Peninsula

We’re looking for a qualified carpenter who’s ready to step up into an entry-level Leading Hand role and grow with our team.

You don’t need years of management experience. We’re looking for someone who already takes pride in their work, communicates well and wants the opportunity to develop into a strong crew leader.

THE ROLE

You’ll be working alongside and gradually taking responsibility for a small crew across new residential builds, including:

• Lock-up
• Fix
• Eaves
• General carpentry & QA
• Organising apprentices and allocating daily tasks
• Walking jobs and making sure everything is completed to a high standard
• Communicating with management and supervisors
• Helping keep jobs productive, clean and running smoothly

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

✅ Qualified carpenter
✅ Strong attention to detail
✅ Reliable and organised
✅ Confident communicating with apprentices and other trades
✅ Takes ownership of their work
✅ Can read plans and work independently
✅ Wants to develop their leadership skills
✅ Driver’s licence and reliable transport

Leading Hand experience is not essential. This would suit a carpenter who feels ready for the next step but hasn’t been given the opportunity yet.

🔨 EXTON BUILDING CO — EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

QUALIFIED CARPENTER – FIT-OFF ROLE

Exton Building Co is putting out an Expression of Interest for a qualified carpenter who might be looking to move away from the everyday hard yards of heavy lifting and carrying, but still wants to stay on the tools.

We’re looking for someone experienced, reliable and particular about their work to take care of fit-offs across our projects.

The role would mainly involve:

* Installing door handles and locks
* Towel rails & toilet roll holders
* General door furniture
* Adjusting doors where required
* Small finishing items
* General bits and bobs to get homes across the line

This could be a great opportunity for an experienced or older carpenter who still enjoys the trade but wants something a little easier on the body than full-time lock-up, fix and framing work.

What we’re looking for:
