So....the dog Nook...
I did this parketry style bench ages ago, and it has been sitting there raw ever since. The base is a sheet of 12mm ply with a hardwood edging. The parketry part is made from leftover scraps of pine decking. I knew I would have a use for those little scraps one day 🤣
So I sanded and stained each piece before glueing them down with some black sikka in the joins. Taping that up took sooooo long! And then getting the tape off was quite the process too, lol! But hey, it looks great 😁

This area is my next work in progress. The dog Nook...? 😆 these 'boxes' are going to be built in cabinets to hide all my crafty clutter and other bits, like a hall cupboard I suppose. Shelving will go in the boxes and I will make some doors. And then timber open shelves in between them for my book collection that I have stacked everywhere.
I'll also build some nice above ground dog beds instead of a feral mattress on the floor 🤣🤣🐕

So, what do we all think of the new upgrade? Brushed gold fixtures and peel and stick splashback. Ta Daa..😃

I used ready made Merbau benchtops from bunnings to do all the timber work here. And a Kaboodle cabinet. The cabinet door was in the discount bin and turned out to be a really good colour and a fraction of the cost, win!

I'm yet to put the splashback on....do you think I should fill the space between the washer and the overhead? Or just one row, half the space?

Trimming out the bathroom door...y'know...so it looks pretty!

As you all know by now, I happen to have a lot bits and pieces of timber, ply, fixtures etc laying around already (I promise I'm not a hoarder, I will use those scraps of timber one day!😂😂😂)
So I didn't need to buy a single thing for this door refurb. See!
I found a pic on Pinterest that I wanted to copy, and now here it is! Looks almost the same 😍😍

My mirror cabinet arrived! What do you think?

It has two clips on the back to keep it steady on the wall....turns out...I had a stud on one side (yay) and nothing on the other side (boooo) 🤣😂
So I had to hunt for a dry wall screw. 😪
You would think that hanging a mirror would be easy right....hahahahahahahaha your funny!
An hour and a bit later....I found a dry wall screw and discovered that the shower niche is on the other side of said 'stud'. So I was about to drill into my shower tiles! Eeeep! 😳
So no go. Back to the measuring board, reposition the clips on the mirror and try again.
Finally! It is on the wall! Yippee

Quick video on hot water.

Just to be clear, I have always had a hot water shower, it was just outdoors.
I broke the old unit when I tried to transfer it over, so have been having cold showers for a week while waiting for the new unit to arrive. Not terrible with this hot weather...😆
What is really cool, is now I have hot water in the kitchen. No more boiling the kettle for dishes 🤪

All I need now is a towel rail and my mirror to arrive, then this reno is complete! Yippee!So much work in finishing thi...

All I need now is a towel rail and my mirror to arrive, then this reno is complete! Yippee!
So much work in finishing things...cornice, architraves, framing the shower for my dangly plants, installing the sink into this old meat safe, refurbishing the old meat safe lol.
Ill probably add some more shelving and art work above the toilet too.
