Most solar and battery rebates you see advertised do not apply across the whole state.

Mount Isa operates under a completely different subsidy and network setup compared to Townsville, Brisbane, and coastal Queensland.

Out here, higher inland solar generation unlocks higher upfront federal discounts, while regional Ergon grid rules dictate exactly how your battery must be connected.

We are here to skip the generic Brisbane marketing pitch and give you the real figures for Mount Isa before you spend a single dollar..

Affordable domestic solar solutions for homes in Mount Isa and surrounding QLD areas. Outback PWR installs reliable residential solar panels for energy savings and sustainability, with options for larger properties.

Still just pulling cable and drilling holes?
2nd, 3rd and 4th year apprentices - we're hiring.

You'll get the general electrical work that finishes your trade properly. Then you'll get the opportunity to head out of town, see some country and squeeze in a bit of fishing along the way.

We’re off-grid specialists, so you’ll get hands-on experience with Solar, batteries, standalone power systems. Gear most sparkies don't touch until years after they get their ticket.

Mt Isa owned. Mt Isa operated. You're on the tools with the people who own the business, not a number on a labour hire spreadsheet.

→ Off-grid and solar experience on your resume before you're even ticketed
→ Trained by tradesmen who actually explain the why
→ Plenty of overtime available

Broaden your trade and get paid for it.

Send us a message or call 0488 272 383 - resumes to [email protected].

The team has been busy, and you can see a theme with some of our recent jobs.

While all batteries set out to do what they are supposed to, Sigenergy offers a scalable solution without compromising its physical footprint. Each layer covers its own function, from battery storage and a PV inverter to an optional EV charger.

This layout eliminates a lot of messy external conduits and complex wall assemblies.

Two other features that make this system a standout are the optional full three-phase backup power and active fire protection that includes AI thermal monitoring, aerogel insulation, smoke/gas sensors, and an internal aerosol fire extinguisher in every battery pack.

As it is one of the safest options on the market, getting the right size for your requirements is all you have to worry about.

Today we’re celebrating 4 years in business and what a journey it’s been! ⚡🔋☀️

From our early days to where we are today, Outback Power has continued to grow, learn and take on bigger and better projects across Northwest Qld & Northern Territory.

We are incredibly proud to be a local Mount Isa business, born and built right here in Northwest Queensland. There’s something special about being able to call Mount Isa home, support our local community and provide reliable power solutions to people living and working throughout our region, remote stations and communities across the outback.

We couldn’t have done it without the support of our customers, suppliers, friends, family and our incredible team. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has trusted us, supported us and been part of the Outback Power journey.

And of course, a massive shout-out to the boss man himself, Tim Harnas. 👏⚡

Outback Power wouldn’t be where it is today without Tim’s dedication, sacrifice, determination, countless long days, late nights, sweat and probably a few tears along the way! Building a business from the ground up takes an incredible amount of hard work, resilience, belief and Tim has certainly put all of that and more into making Outback Power what it is today.

We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved over the past four years and even more excited about what’s ahead.

Here’s to 4 years of powering the outback… and many more to come!
