This National Skills Week, DMK Engineering is proud to recognise the value of skilled trades and the career opportunities they continue to create.

Today, we have 13 apprentices developing their trade at DMK, gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople and contributing to real engineering projects across Australia.

For us, an apprenticeship is more than learning a trade. It’s about passing valuable knowledge from one generation of tradespeople to the next.

We’re proud to invest in our people and play our part in keeping skilled trades strong for the future.

And that investment continues...

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
• Have completed, or be nearing completion of Year 11
• Have completed, or be prepared to complete one week of work experience with our team as part of the application process.

𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! We encourage anyone interested in applying to book their work experience now. Placements are limited and fill quickly, so don’t wait until applications open in September.

🎓 DMK Engineering was proud to attend the Workforce Australia Local Jobs - Murray and South East - Limestone Coast Jobs, Skills and Careers Showcase 2026 at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre!

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with students, job seekers, and members of the community to showcase the diverse career pathways available within the engineering and construction industries.

A big thank you to the organisers for putting together such a valuable event, and to everyone who stopped by our stand for a chat. We’re passionate about supporting the next generation and investing in the future of our industry. 👏

𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟮 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 – 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿?

We are offering 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 for Year 11 and 12 students who are curious about a hands-on, high skill trade and want to see what it is really like in the industry.

This is your chance to:
• Experience a real workshop environment
• Learn from qualified tradespeople
• Get hands-on exposure to metal fabrication and boilermaking
• See if a trade career is right for you
• Stand out for future apprenticeship opportunities

At DMK Engineering, we use our work experience program as a pathway to apprenticeships. We are planning to take on up to 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗥 new apprentices later this year for a 2027 start, and students who complete work experience with us will be strongly considered.

We are looking for students who:
• Have a strong work ethic
• Are keen to learn
• Enjoy hands-on work
• Have good Maths and English skills
• Are considering a career in the trades

This is a great opportunity to explore the industry, gain valuable experience and potentially kick start your career.

A big congratulations to Neil McKay on his retirement!

Over the past decade, Neil has made a significant contribution to the business, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism to every project he has been involved in. His commitment to quality outcomes and his support of the wider team have played an important role in DMK’s continued success.

Neil’s experience and steady presence will be greatly missed by both colleagues and clients alike.
