Got a project coming up? Let us know what you are working with.

The earlier we are across the scope, the smoother the earthworks and concreting side runs for everyone. Send us the details and we will come back to you with what we need to get it locked in.

Both work. 👌
The right choice depends on what you are using the area for, what is underneath it, and what you are willing to maintain.

👉 Concrete gives you a single continuous surface. It is strong, low maintenance, and handles heavy loads well. Driveways, garage slabs, and paths are typically concrete for that reason. The base prep is the same either way: excavation, compaction, and proper drainage.

👉 Pavers give you more flexibility with patterns and can be easier to repair in small sections. But they can shift over time if the base is not compacted properly, and weeds will find every gap eventually.

Either way, what is underneath matters more than what is on top. If the base is not right, both will fail.

Start with the right foundation. Talk to us about earthworks.

Before the slab, before the footings, before anything else, the ground has to be right.

A site cut is how we get there. The ground is excavated and shaped to create a level building pad for your house, shed, or structure. On a sloped block, soil is removed from the high side and the platform is built up from there.

The depth and approach depends on the design, the slope, and what's underneath.
In the Adelaide Hills, reactive clay and rock are common, so no two cuts are exactly the same.

It's the first thing that happens on site, and it sets up everything that follows.

Ever wondered how long concrete take to cure?

Concrete is usually hard enough to walk on within 24 to 48 hours. But "cured" and "dry" are not the same thing.

Full strength takes about 28 days. During that time, the concrete is still gaining strength and should not take heavy loads too early. Driveways, for example, should not have vehicles on them for at least 7 days, sometimes longer depending on thickness and conditions.

Hot weather speeds up surface drying but can actually weaken the slab if it dries too fast. That is why you will sometimes see concreter’s wetting a slab down or covering it after a pour.

If you are planning around a concrete pour, factor in the cure time before scheduling the next trade.

Winter is a good time to get ahead.

Cooler conditions, more flexible scheduling, and less competition for machinery.
If you've got a driveway, slab, shed site, or extension coming up — now is a smart time to sort the groundwork.

Head into spring ready to build, not waiting on earthworks.

Send us a message and we'll talk you through it. Link in bio.
