Soils and Composting Workshop - Toora
Sunny October 4th - Details and link to book below ☺️🌱
Join me at our new permaculture property in Toora, South Gippsland for a hands-on workshop building a hot compost heap, an in-depth look into a healthy soil ecology and different types of soils plus alternative ways to compost!
Nothing better than building a giant hot compost pile as a group! Working together, learning together, it’s always fun.
We will discuss different types of composting, soils and how we can amend our soils, keeping them healthy and thriving.
I’ll show you how we intend to look after our soils here, not only in the veggie garden but for our fruit trees and native plant areas too.
We will discuss different manures also, cow, chook, horse, sheep - How and when to use them.
I like to make sure everyone can be present and enjoying themselves so I will have comprehensive notes for each attendee to take home but please feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you’d like to take extra notes.
All attendees will also take some seed mixes home - green manure mixes for different seasons.
I’ll provide light refreshments but please bring your water bottles, hats, gardening gloves and sturdy shoes are a must - if you would prefer to wear a mask while handling soils, composts and manures, please bring one with you.
We will go ahead in sun or rain but I will postpone if weather is unsafe, please check your emails on the morning of the event.
Address and all the details will be emailed to each attendee a few days before the event, looking forward to seeing you!
Warmly, Jane
