Saturday afternoon was spent plotting 1,394m of fence line over this ridge.

Taking the time to set the line out properly means the crew can hit the ground running.

This was a fun project for the boys, on a job we completed in May.

A hinged post, breakaway, floodway fence.

We drove 2.4m maxi pickets into the ground, leaving 300mm exposed to tie the breakaway pickets to. The idea is simple: in a major rain event, the tie wires are designed to snap, allowing this section of fence to move with the floodwater rather than fight against it.

Time will tell how it goes, but we’re looking forward to seeing it do exactly what it was designed to do.
