When you look at a garden, you hope to see it as one cohesive space, but if you break it down into smaller stories or zones, do they each have the strength to stand on their own?

In our designs, we aim to create that immediate, overall appeal, like in this coastal garden in Merimbula, but we also want the viewer to discover those beautiful, intimate moments within the space; a quiet seating nook, a perfectly placed rock and plant combinations that just work together.

It’s these layered stories that turn a garden from a space into an experience

The design objective was to create an entertaining space with privacy and also provide a functional yet beautiful entry to this lovely 1960’s property. The materials needed to be in keeping and complement the style of architecture; crazy paving, breeze blocks and a soft grey plant palette works seamlessly with this much loved house.

Once again front gardens aren’t just about access to the house, it can be about making it a functional space. In this garden we have added a kids play area surrounded by native and ornamental plants; Gymea Lilies, Kangaroo Paws and Banksias are flowering and non native plants like Crepe Myrtles are starting to bud up for summer colour. Leveled areas are key for friendly spaces.
