✨ A little update from The Everyday Helper Co. ✨

Happy Friday!

The past few weeks have been filled with meaningful connections, practical support and helping people navigate life’s transitions.

Recently, I’ve been assisting with:

🏡 Helping people declutter, organise and prepare their homes for the next chapter.

📦 Supporting downsizing and moving journeys, making what can feel overwhelming a little easier.

🏥 Helping someone get their home back in order after a hospital stay, creating a comfortable and organised space to focus on recovery.

📄 Resume writing and job application support, helping people showcase their skills and experience with confidence.

🌿 Assisting with transition-to-retirement planning, providing practical support and guidance as people adjust to a new stage of life.

🤝 Connecting with lovely local real estate professionals and other trusted services to help make important decisions easier.

📅 Tackling life admin, appointments, errands and all those jobs that never seem to make it to the top of the list.

💙 One of the things I love most about this work is that no two days are the same.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me, referred me, or shared kind words about The Everyday Helper Co. Your support means the world.

The past couple of weeks have been such a good reminder of why I love what I do!

I’ve been helping connect families, couples and individuals with support services like tutoring, home assistance and practical support. Hearing the positive feedback that things are going well, makes me smile.

Sometimes people just need someone to help point them in the right direction 🤍

This week was all about helping out busy families and getting the best for them.

✈️ One client already had a destination in mind and a solid stash of airline points—but wanted to make sure they were getting the best possible value out of them. We worked through the options, compared routes and availability, and found a way to stretch those points further (without the usual frustration). Happy travels. ✈️

📚 Another client needed help finding the right tutor for their child. Not just anyone—but someone who would suit their learning style and build confidence. After a bit of research and a few conversations, we landed on a great fit that feels right for the whole family.

Lovely to be able to assist and help. 🌿

A positive step forward for a busy local area. 🌿

Hello everyone, I am pleased to share an update following the recent road safety concerns raised within our community.

After liaising with Council, they have reviewed the area and will be:
- Adding an extra STOP sign
- Repainting the STOP lines to improve visibility
- Continuing to monitor the area, with further improvements considered if needed.

It is great that this issue has been acknowledged and addressed — especially in such a well-utilised area for local families, schools and early learning centres.

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and supported this initiative — it truly makes a difference.

A really rewarding little project this week… 🌿

Supporting a local community group to feel more organised and confident in how they show up and share what they do.

Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of eyes and a bit of guidance to bring everything together.

I really did enjoy helping this group showcase the fun they have! 😊

Supporting our local community this week

This week, I’ve been working on something a little different… but just as important.

I’ve written to Kingston City Council regarding a local intersection where there have been ongoing concerns about drivers not stopping — and an increase in near misses and accidents.

It’s something many in our community have noticed… and it’s only a matter of time before something more serious happens.

Sometimes support isn’t just inside the home —
it’s also about speaking up for safer streets, safer neighbourhoods, and looking out for one another 🤍

I’ve asked Council to consider measures like improved signage or traffic calming to help slow things down before an accident occurs.

If you live locally and have noticed the same concerns, your voice matters too.

Because community care isn’t just what we do inside our homes…
it’s how we look after each other outside of them.

A little note, Council have responded and they’ve appointed a Councillor to look at this. I’ll keep you posted.

✨ A Little Everyday Helper Moment ✨

Turning a very full cupboard into something that actually works.

We’ve all got that one cupboard where things just get “put away for now”… and somehow it turns into that cupboard 😅

So… off to Kmart we went for some simple storage solutions.

The focus wasn’t perfection — it was creating a simple system that makes everyday life easier.

Now it’s:
✔ Easy to see what’s there
✔ Quick to find things
✔ Simple to keep on top of

Sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference.

A Little Snapshot of the Week – The Everyday Helper. 🌿

This week has been a mix of helping people with some of those everyday things that make life run more smoothly.

✈️ Helping a couple find a better flight route to Europe, avoiding a stopover in the middle east. They’re now getting ready for their walking tour of the Camino trail.

📋 Assisting a lovely lady help her Mum get on top of paperwork and appointments that had been building up.

And while in my travels, I shared a great little household hack with a client, shared with me. If you don’t know it, here it is…it’s a game changer.

“If you place a layer of aluminium foil under your ironing board cover, it reflects the heat back through the fabric — meaning you’re almost ironing both sides at once. A simple trick that can make:

✔️ Clothes iron faster
✔️ Wrinkles come out easier
✔️ Saves time on big ironing piles

Give it a try and let me know if it makes ironing easier for you.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make everyday life run a bit more smoothly.
And if you ever need a hand with a few of those jobs, I’m always happy to help.

You can’t go to Bunnings for just one thing…😀

Having a background in OH&S, has helped this week assisting a lovely client move into their new apartment. A quick trip to Bunnings to pick up a few practical things to help make everyday living a little safer and easier.

Some simple and very useful finds:

• Grabber tool – great for picking things up without bending
• Motion sensor lights – perfect for hallways at night
• Non-slip bath mat – extra grip in the bathroom
• Small step ladder – safer for reaching high cupboards
• Under-sink organiser – makes things easier to find.

It was great to help and work with this lovely lady. 🌿
