You turned over $4 million last year and took home $110,000. I have this conversation more often than you'd think, and the builder having it is usually convinced he needs more work.

He doesn't. More work at a broken margin loses money faster.
In nearly every case it's three leaks: quoting on last year's prices, variations that never get invoiced, and an overhead recovery rate nobody ever actually calculated, so it got guessed, and guessed low.

None of that gets fixed by a bigger pipeline. It gets fixed by sitting down with your real numbers in front of people who'll tell you the truth about them.
