I see on a daily basis houses with Major Defects that could have been prevented with a little home maintenance. You service your car every year, why not do the same for the most expensive asset you own ? The pictures here show the result of not carrying out a few checks; gutters blocked which causes water during a down poor to access the roof cavity, internal walls etc causing major problems, unsealed window frames causing wood decay and require replacement, cracks in roof mortar allowing water access and major internal damage, holes in downpipe which allows debris and eventual blockage.
