We're incredibly proud to announce that the Dual Identity Leadership Program (DILP) has won the Youth Leadership Award at the 2026 Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence! ๐
Members of our team were honoured to attend a special ceremony at Government House, where our Board Chair, Angelina Lau, accepted the award from the Governor of Victoria, the Honourable Margaret Gardner.
This award recognises over a decade of empowering young Vietnamese and Asian Australians to embrace their cultural identities, develop their leadership skills and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
To our alumni, participants, past and present Board and committee members, mentors, volunteers, partners and supporters, thank you for making DILP what it is today. A special shoutout to our Steering and Alumni Committees, led by Hoang Cat and Anna Huynh, and our Relaunch Committee, led by Timothy Dinh, for helping bring DILP back to life!
Thank you to Multicultural and Multifaith Victoria for this recognition, and a huge congratulations to all the other award recipients and nominees for their incredible contributions to Victoria's multicultural communities! ๐
We were also proud to celebrate some familiar faces:
- Celia Tran, DILP alumni and former Board member, inducted into the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll.
- Talei Richards, CEO of Scanlon Community longtime DILP supporter, inducted into the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll.
- Vivienne Nguyen, DILP co-founder, recognised for her contributions as Chair of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
As we approach one year since DILP's relaunch as an independent organisation, we're proud of how far we've come, but we're only just getting started! Here's to expanding our reach and creating even more opportunities for the next generation of multicultural leaders. ๐
Finally, we'd love to encourage everyone to support the official opening of the Vietnamese Museum Australia today, Saturday 17 October! Many DILP alumni have contributed to this milestone, and we hope to see you there!
