This snow gum's been growing somewhere it was never meant to. All those burls down the trunk are the tree fighting its own growth pattern outside the snowline. Strange to look at but impressive it's still growing.

Nothing like a truck with a view.

Put on a BBQ to send a few of the crew off properly. Snags on, onions going, and everyone’s around for a good yarn - which is exactly how it should go. Good crew, good send-off.

Finished the removal, looked up, and there they were. Baby brushtail, already back tucked in against mum. Good one to catch before we'd even packed the gear up.

Groundie's got the rope, climber's already sorting the canopy out up top. In, done, on to the next one.

Working a back street, catch a flash of green down in the storm water drain. Bird's nest fern, growing full send in the dark under a grate. Don't spend much time looking down on this job except to watch your footing, but every now and then it's worth it.

Russel, on the job as usual. One minute holding down the couch, next minute deep in the mulch, then straight back to chasing a ball round the yard like it's his full-time gig. Someone’s gotta do it.

Night job, lit up under the streetlights. Crane in, bucket up, working around the building next door until it's done. Not every job happens in daylight.

Little tree, ridiculous base. This is a lignotuber - a woody swelling some natives grow at ground level to store energy and resprout from if the top gets taken out by fire or drought. Looks like a fist clenched into the dirt.

Three buckets up at once on this one. Chipper running flat out behind, truck backed in tight, TC holding the whole street together so everyone else can just get on with it. Big job, big crew out, everyone doing their bit.
