Project Underway | Unitywater Northern Corporate Centre

McCormack Queensland has been appointed to deliver Unitywater’s new Northern Corporate Centre at 50 First Avenue Tower in Maroochydore City Centre under a Design and Construct model for Walker Corporation.

Spanning three levels and connected by a feature interconnecting staircase, the workplace will combine flexible floorplates, collaborative hubs and focused zones within a future-ready environment. The design supports connection and service delivery while maintaining operational efficiency and high-quality finishes.

Proud to contribute to the continued evolution of the Sunshine Coast CBD alongside Peddle Thorp Interiors, Lehr Consultants, BG&E, Knisco, Omni and Acoustic Works.

McCormack was engaged to deliver the redevelopment of 300 La Trobe Street, enhancing both its functionality and civic presence.

A key focus of the project was the transformation of the building’s façade and external form. The South and East façades were demolished and reconstructed, extending the La Trobe Street frontage to create a prominent public entry aligned with the buildings identity.

A discreet laneway access was also introduced for vulnerable persons, balancing safety, accessibility and dignity while maintaining the building’s architectural integrity.

These works collectively strengthen the building’s connection to the public realm and redefine its street presence.

We're pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Raymond as our newest General Manager QLD.

With over 20 years of experience in senior roles within the construction industry across the eastern states of Australia, Steven will lead the team in the establishment of our third location. He is personable, driven, and enjoys being part of a team - with a competitive edge that continually helps him achieve new milestones in the industry. Steven is passionate about creating a successful Queensland branch and ensuring that the values and vision we share are implemented from the outset.

VIC Project: Speculative Suites, 40-60 City Rd, Southbank

The completion of the HWT/IBM Tower Speculative Suites project presents attractive leasing opportunities for businesses seeking premium commercial spaces. With its prime location and thoughtfully curated design, the suites offer tenants a go-to city destination with modern amenities and a vibrant work atmosphere.

Six speculative suites were constructed at 4297 sqm across HWT & IBM Tower. Design consultants Hot Black focused on delivering a contemporary aesthetic, and employed a palette of calm neutral tones, creating an inviting ambience from the moment of entry. A comprehensive scope of work addressed various aspects including ex-spec suite refurbishment, inter-tenancy split, cold shell enhancements, demolition, and raised floor conversion. Every detail, from acoustic wall panelling to bespoke feature wall treatments, was carefully considered to foster collaboration and productivity.

From enhanced tenant experience to versatility and adaptability, the suites cater to diverse needs, providing compelling leasing options for businesses looking to elevate their workspace environment and establish a strong presence in a dynamic business hub.

The McCormack team, led by Director Lauren McCormack, was delighted to lend a helping hand to the Lighthouse Foundation in maintaining their Mums and Bub home.

The working bee provided a wonderful opportunity for our team to delve deeper into the Lighthouse program and appreciate the invaluable services and support offered by the home and its programs. Additionally, it allowed us to contribute meaningfully through our efforts in the yard.

McCormack remains committed to supporting the Lighthouse Foundation throughout 2024 as it continues its mission to create pathways to end youth homelessness and provide crucial support to the youth coping with trauma.

Project: End of Trip & Amenities Upgrade at 479 St Kilda Road

McCormack has recently completed an impressive end-of-trip & amenities upgrade at 479 St Kilda Road. Situated in a prime location with easy access to parklands, the building offers an ideal setting for its occupants.

The end-of-trip & amenities upgrade aimed to deliver an elevated experience for occupants, focusing on creating impactful, spa-like space that exude luxury and style. Studio 103 design concept centred around all-encompassing bathroom schemes featuring integrated lighting and a sophisticated color palette, including bold green hues and decadent fixtures. By infusing elements of luxury and relaxation into every corner, we transformed the facilities into a rejuvenating oasis, elevating the promise of comfort and sophistication for building occupants.

One of the key challenges faced during this project was the diverse existing conditions of the lift reveals across different lobby floors. With inconsistencies across "set back," "flush," and "proud" positions, maintaining design consistency posed a significant hurdle. Our solution involved deploying multiple on-site coordinators collaborating closely with trades and designers. To ensure design integrity, we strategically adjusted some lift lobby setouts and built out proud lift reveals to match, incorporating elements like vinyl wrap and tiles with appropriate trim. This approach ensured that the design intent was preserved throughout the project.
