Some histories are worth preserving. Others are worth becoming part of.

For almost 160 years, Maritima House has been both a witness to Brighton’s history and a part of its story.

In the 1860s, it was the private residence of Sir Frederick McCoy, a pioneering scientist, one of the University of Melbourne’s inaugural professors and a driving force behind the establishment of the National Museum of Victoria.

By 1937, the grand Italianate residence had found a different calling. As Kostka Hall, part of Xavier College, its rooms and gardens became the backdrop to generations of schooldays, friendships and memories.

Now, another chapter begins. Golden Age Group is preserving and reimagining this historic landmark as the Maritima Clubhouse, an exclusive wellness and social retreat at the heart of Maritima Brighton, a private bayside community designed by Carr.

Once a distinguished home, then a place of learning, Maritima House is set to bring people together once more, carrying its remarkable legacy into a new era of bayside living.

Developed by Golden Age Group, SKY SQR brings together a diverse mix of dining, retail, essential services and residential living, including the Australian debut of renowned Chinese restaurant Nong Geng Ji.

Building on our longstanding presence in Box Hill, SKY SQR reflects our continued commitment to creating vibrant, connected places that contribute to the growth of Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

We’re proud to mark the settlement of the land at Maritima Brighton , an important milestone in the delivery of this private bayside community.

Located moments from Brighton Beach, Maritima Brighton brings together architecture by Carr, landscape by TCL and the heritage character of Maritima Clubhouse within one of Melbourne’s most established coastal neighbourhoods.

With the land component now settled, the project moves into its next phase, with a collection of luxury townhomes set to define the next chapter of Maritima Brighton.

A significant milestone for the project, and an important step forward in bringing the broader vision to life.

What a weekend at SKY SQR Box Hill ✨

Thousands joined us in the heart of Box Hill for our Mid-Autumn Carnival — two days filled with food, culture and entertainment.

It was wonderful to see SKY SQR come alive, bringing together families, friends, local businesses and the wider Box Hill community to celebrate.

We were also pleased to welcome City of Whitehorse Mayor Cr Kirsten Langford, who joined the celebrations and spoke about the transformation of the site and the community spirit that continues to shape Whitehorse.

More than a decade in the making, SKY SQR was always envisioned as more than a place to shop and dine. As Golden Age Managing Director Jeff Xu said, the vision was to create a place that brings people together and becomes part of everyday life in Box Hill.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the weekend so special.

Recently featured in The Age , Casse-Croûte owner Pascal Huron shared how his 17sqm French sandwich shop at 130 Little Collins is getting “busier and busier every day”.

And we love seeing it. 😊

It’s a small moment that speaks to something bigger.

As more people settle into their workplaces, the laneway grows livelier and new daily rituals begin to take shape. We’re proud to see 130 Little Collins becoming the vibrant workplace we envisioned.
