Beautiful back and sides in smoky Blackwood and a very nice Cedar soundboard for my new classical guitar. That's when my broken ribs and cracked pelvis heal........4 weeks? Who knows....

Had a great 5 weeks back in the UK but after a week back came off my bike breaking 4 ribs, fracturing my pelvis and getting a right bang on the head. Thankfully my helmet came off worse otherwise it would have been really bad. So a week in hospital and the prospect of 6 weeks recovering at least.
When can I get back to the bench? This is so frustrating and I'm not a patient patient.
Still, plenty of time to plan new bracing ideas, headstock designs, tonewoods and look to the future.

The new J45 type all Blackwood guitar is strung up and settling down Fitted with a KK pickup which sounds great. I'll let it adjust to its new life as an instrument, rather a box with a hole in it while I'm away in the UK. When I get back I'll give it a cuddle and see how it's calmed down. All guitars need a cuddle now and then. Don't we all?

Neck glued on to the new 'J45' type all Blackwood guitar. Now comes the fun of shaping the neck. For those in the know, yes I've put the truss rod in and glued the fretboard on.

Blackwood.... it always goes a nasty greeny colour when it comes in contact with water. It cleans off but sometimes takes a bit of effort.
It's worth it.
