Building on a sloping site looks straightforward on a plan.

On the ground, there's plenty for your builder to think about. Get it wrong and you spend the life of the home apologising for it. Get it right and the site becomes the best thing about the project.

This double-storey family home in Eaglemont is the result of us getting it right. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, solid timber floors throughout, and an open-plan living space that pulls natural light in from every direction.

Most builders will tell you yes to everything. We're not that builder.

When this family came to Allgrange wanting to open up their kitchen and living area, it would have been easy to just say sure, we can do that. Another builder did exactly that.

Greg told them the truth. That opening up the space in a double-storey home would mean four pillars in the middle of the room, a direct line of sight into the pantry, and a finished product that didn't match what they had in mind.
