We are pleased to share another successful planning outcome delivered by Smart Town Planning Pty Ltd.

The City of Greater Dandenong has granted Planning Permit PLN25/0218 for the use and development of the land for an Industry (Timber Treatment Plant), including buildings and works and a reduction in car parking requirements, at 64 Colemans Road, Dandenong South.

This was a complex industrial planning application requiring extensive coordination between the client, Council and specialist consultants. The assessment involved a Preliminary Hazard Analysis addressing hazardous-material storage, handling and transfer, including fire and environmental risks.

The application also required detailed supporting documentation covering site and environmental management, waste management, emergency procedures and fire management, all of which now form part of the permit requirements.

Fire safety was another important component, with the relevant fire authority confirming that the fire equipment provided at the site was appropriate for the purposes of the planning permit.

After a lengthy and technically detailed assessment process, it is rewarding to see the planning permit and endorsed plans/documents finally issued.

A great outcome for our client, South East Pine Treatment, and a strong example of how careful coordination across planning, traffic, environmental, waste, fire safety and hazardous-material considerations can help progress a complex industrial proposal.

The permit was approved on 26 August 2026 for the development of a second dwelling and alterations to the existing dwelling.

At Smart Town Planning, we're proud to have assisted our client in securing both an Amended Planning Permit and the Council endorsement of amended plans for a Place of Worship at 8 Commerce Drive, Hampton Park.

The approved amendment facilitates the continued use of the site as a Place of Worship, the construction of a new mezzanine level, and a reduction in the statutory car parking requirement. Another great planning outcome delivered by the planners and designers at Smart Town Planning!

We are pleased to share the approval of a new 7-court indoor badminton centre at 7 Palomo Drive, Cranbourne West. This exciting facility includes six competition courts and a dedicated training court, providing a fantastic indoor sports venue for the growing City of Casey.

This project demonstrates how existing buildings can be successfully repurposed to deliver valuable community infrastructure and recreational opportunities. We are proud to have assisted our client in securing this approval and bringing this vision one step closer to reality.
